I'm staying in the lovely wee Scottish town/village of Creetown for a few days, and while I'm here, I decided to take a wee wander round the town with my camera, and Lassie. why not come along for the walk with me, and hear my ramblings as I wander round :)
If you'd like to support me to get out and about more and visit more of Scotland with my DJI mini 2 drone, you could always stick some fuel in my tank using this link. And it is very much appreciated!

This is my home town and I always think of Runrig singing "Going Home" when I cross the bridge into Creetown. The Gem and Rock museum was my school in 1956 which closed about then and a new school was built. The churchyard is where a lot of my family are now. Memories of going to Sunday school and the Robins. We also went to the Band of Hope in Harbour Street. Relatives moved away to Canada and Auatralia and we moved to Glasgow but Creetown will always be home

Very nice video Robert ... very cinematic. I like the way you incorporated your Mini2 video with video shot from your hand cam .. along with some 'Google Earth' shots. Nice job of editing. That church doesn't look like its still being used, from the looks of the roof & exterior, but perhaps its not as bad off as it looks. Music was spot on as well. I remember some time ago watchin a movie about a small town in the UK, where musicians would gather to play folk music .. with 2 bands trying their best to take each other out of the contest. Funny movie. Well done!

@@WindsweptRobert Nice one, its been a difficult time for musicians and gigs. My last one was Summer 2019. Meant to playing later this year in Europe but with added admin and costs etc not sure whether its viable. But never say never hey. I gave up for 24 years then the call came to reignite the band once more back in 2008. I said it couldn't be done, a week later and very sore fingers there we were on stage once more! I really like these videos Robert, I think you can go a far way producing content like this. I myself have done a mix of handheld footage and ariel footage, but just haven't put them together yet. 😂. But I think you can grow your channel, exploring Scotland and pointing out its amazing sights, history etc in a format that's enjoyable to watch and easy to understand. Love the ending to, very nice. Keep up the great work my friend, I think this is the future. Del 👍
@WindsweptRobert
@WindsweptRobert 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Del! I do want to move my content more to the 'story-telling' vloggy-style of videos. I'll still do tests of drones as I see the need (especially when the mini 3 comes out!) But I believe I have tested everything there is to test on the mini 2, and most of what there is to test on the DJI FPV. I've spent over a year learning how to fly a drone to a reasonable standard so that I feel that I'm now capable of adding some nice arial footage to the Scottish Tales I want to tell. I hope the viewership for this content is better this year than last year, as my 'story-type' videos (Sawney Bean, Snib's Cave, Scary House) didn't do very well and I actually lost a lot of subscribers during those videos! Time will tell!
@LandmarkAerialDronePhotography
@LandmarkAerialDronePhotography 2 жыл бұрын
Your welcome, and yes I still enjoy your hints and tips on flying and updates to drones etc. I've only been flying for a year now, and I've gained confidence and knowledge. Inpart due to channels like yours, where the information is clear and concise. It's a shame you lost subscribers, but then as I've found you can't please everyone. I just do my videos because I enjoy exploring and history. And I wanted to keep a record of things changing around me, both new and old. But as I said, I definitely see a future in what you are now doing, keep it up my friend. Look forward to seeing the next video, best of luck. 🍀👍
