Absolutely Brilliant! I loved this musical, saw it about ten times, couldn't believe it wasn't more successful. Also the set has to be the best one I've ever seen on stage. Happy memories, thank you for sharing this.

It isn't a musical avaible to license either, it's a shame, as I think it would do really well on the AmDram/Operatic Society fields, not a massive cast, no rediculous set, costumes aren't complicated, can easily add in extra reporters if needed, and none of the songs have outrages notes. But I would still love to see a professional production, and if we can ever time travel, the original!

Wow, thanks for this. I saw this with Amanda Redman, not sure that's her in this clip though? I've seen hundreds of musicals, bits you remember over the years, but this all stayed with me, the soundtrack is worth a listen. The whole show was performed with a giant stage truck in the background (I believe the biggest ever used at that time) the truck was pushed left and right to change scene focus. This clip is from the Royal Variety performance so you can't see it in action here. I've been waiting ever since to see it put on again.

tell me about it! I have the cast recording, and all ther different versions of the progams etc that I could find, but I've never seen it on stage. Until time travel exists, i'll have to live with the cast recording and photos...

@@SG1Lucy My kids love it too, they were very excited to see this clip. When they were teenagers we took them to see Dennis Waterman in a concert performance of Guys and Dolls. At the stage door after we asked if someone would take the cast recording CD into Dennis for an autograph....he came out to talk to us. My son said he'd love to see him now play the Anton Rogers role, Dennis said that would be great, but didn't have much hope of it being put on. There maybe some copyright issue somewhere.
