some good info, but skip so fast ovre what i am interested in.. 1st,,, does the dish know where it is at? can you just turn it on and it will find where to go? or does it have be be in a specific spot when u turn it on?

It finds the satellites wherever it is

How long are the screws to hold the plate down?

I don't remember how long they were but probably 1 1/2" to 2". Don't go to long. You don't want to go through the roof to the inside.
