I never thought to trap something inside a stem before. Definitely going to add this technique. Thanks as usual for the great videos.

Amazing, but why not just use an actual coin? it would be a lot more appealing and aesthetically pleasing

Sam Chaney I think it’s cause it’ll melt or something. Also I really hate how coin sounds on glass.

The narrator said it was a "silver" dish to represent a coin of the 16-17th century. If they had used a modern coin, which don't contain real silver, perhaps it would have oxidized or discolored in the heat? Or modern coins arent small and thin enough (even a dime would seem too clunky) to make a delightful tinkle in the glass stem.
