I partake in this type of fun with my longboard skateboard and my 5m wing. I have clocked in at 22mph. I have not tried it on the beach (no mountainboard) but I ride at my local park with the huge parking lot. I should probably get a mountainboard because we have a 22 mile stretch of hard packed beach that is mostly deserted 99% of the time.

Your beach sounds perfect, so long as there's no local restrictions, deserted and hard packed. Just watch out for loose dogs who will assume you're an animal to be chased! I'm keen to try with a surf skate but still not found a suitable location locally...

@@intheoutside123 I will keep an eye out for dogs! More of a danger would probably be the cars. We can drive on the beach here in TX. The speed limit is 20 I believe but there's always that one guy!

can't verify from personal experience yet, but I think wing sails & mountain boards are perfect for parking lots. & lots large enough for sailing are usually also lighted at night.

Enjoying your videos and considering trying this out myself. It seems Weston super Mare has a dedicated zone for wind sports which apparently you cannot venture out of and you need insurance. Do you have a bit more freedom at Burnham?

Thanks for your kind comment and apologies for the late reply - bit of a grey area this and mindful this is a public forum. I'm not keen on the limitations at WSM though might be good to support it. I prefer trying elsewhere, my philosophy being 'better to ask for forgiveness than permission'... 😉

Do you not have have a kite buggy ? Big wheels would ride over that soft sand

No, and I kinda like going sideways. Can be frustrating at times though 🤪

Maybe that sand is a sign that you need to take that wing out into the water soon?

Side wind would have been perfect on the water, without any sand quality issue! It seems to me quite difficult to find suitable wheels to cope with all type of sand , with or without water… bigger and larger?? Slicker?

Trouble with this location is the huge tidal range, which means no access to the water for most of the time. There's been great hard packed sand for the last 6 months well suitable for normal wheels but it's deteriorating through the summer. I hope it returns as it's not far to travel. Hoping I can use the water as I improve, but keen to try without chop first if I can!
