There is also a Wing Chun county in Fujian Province that is famous for a style of White crane that uses the the same weapons as Wing Chun Kuen. How does that figure into the family tree?

It is of course interesting about the history but at some points there are always foggy spots and we never know exactly what is what. We have to now depend on people like you to teach us something so new lineages will form starting with you, and hopefully some of the new ones will be better in most ways than the old ones.

apparently since I am asking to see how a sparring works in your beloved 1850 video, nobody is able to provide a clear thing. Sparring is not life and deatch, is just an exercise, you can decide the intensity. I want to see what happens is a random approach. instead, the few cases shown here,are the usual attacker one step, freezing, and then the other plays. The only free chi sao on this channel is a bad copy of the normal 1960 chi sao, where nobody gets to close the distance in a close body fight? Where are the news? Unfortunately there are no news. Nobody lets you play, doesn't really matter which game you are doing. Maybe there is someone who can use wing chun, but this person has to know also that 10% of long wing chun fist. something never discussed in this channel, since SANTO SAYS CLEARLY THAT WING CHUN IS SHORT FIST, and even when he says that there are long fist techniques, he never present them. So, i am sorry, your fake hero doesn't present wing chun correctly and he has not taught anybody how to use it in reality against Xiu Xiao Dong, otherwise, like his beloved MMA fighters, he would have been able to teach to a person to the level that that person can show anything evaluable. I don't produce videos, I almost don't have pics of myself on the net. But I am not a grand majesty like Santo, I am not chinese, I don't have to fight for anything, or for a wing chun business. He is presenting himself as the messiah of wing chun, so it is to him to present properly. Sifu Sergio, i won't answer anymore to people who are not able to see the old clip from Tang Yik as a proof of their mistakes on what is weng chun. I won't even reply from my wing chun perspective. Would be interesting now, since you had a touch with Hendrik Santo, but your knowledge is not limited only to that, which is your perspective on the Yik Kam wing chun and its relation with all the rest of the wing chun world. It can be important, or less important, but I am tired to hear only the point of view of those who are interested only in propaganda and in putting down all the rest of the community. You have researched many wing chun styles, and one thing that you could say for example, is to clarify how really important is the General Chi Jigwan, if he matters as a general historical reference or if he could have given somehow a contribution to the development of single styles in China, mainly wing chun but not necessarily only wing chun. I agree that in general all chinese martial arts have suffered after Comunism, but would you really say that there is no track, in the modern wing chun, of the closed body combat? And do you think that there has been some contribution that the modern wing chun till the 70ies, has given, some interesting evolution, out of any Yik Kam point of view? For me Santo cannot really be objective, on this perspective. Too much involved into promotion of his own point of view, blind to any other evidence not included in his purely academic-book research. Yes they did interact in the past as they come from same source. Unfortunately the good interactions ended up quickly due to jealousy, bad personalities, politics or simply of big Ego. This happened in the past in Foshan and other places like Dai Tak Lan, too. Sad but true

Mr. Santo says bullshit. He speaks about evidences. so when there is a doubt, he should be able to answer. but in front of the evidences, he doesn't answer. Yip Man doesn't have anything in relation with 1850 wing chun. Maybe also Yip Man has read books so he could speak that way on New Martial Hero, but his practice, BY EVIDENCE OF THE VIDEOS REPRESENTING HIM, doesn't resemle in any way wing chun 1850. Yip Man's students use similar mechanics. When Hendrik Santo will stop abusing Master Yip Man to implement his agenda, I will stop. I have time, I am younger than him. If Mr Santo is a researcher, he will be able to explain. But here there is only one researcher, and this is SIfu Sergio. At last he explains many controversial points. Hendrik has a lot of bullshit to justify.

@@dan-oq4be no, Yip Man had the high bong sao and he never hugs the wooden dummy. Yip Man when performin siu nim tao goes stright keeping the body in the same position. In weng chun you can see the video from Tang Yik and he figts also in the zone 3, while in wing chun Yip Man doesn't do that. THESE ARE FACTS, not these statements from this poor man, out from any tangible reality. The videos for Tang Yik and for Yip Man in front of the wooden dummy are available, they are OUT THERE for everybody. Don't let yourself brainwashed from words, when there are clear old not manipulated videos! Think with your eyes, and not with the eyes of this propaganda man. The video how Yip Man performed are available. Look the video and find your concepts, if those are there. Stop reading fantasies taken from transalation of academic people who don't know fight.

Ofcourse all striking arts have some close body skills but they're art isn't based there. Ip man said wing chuns a sticking body short strike art. The video of ip man was taken 2 week before he died. Im a 2nd generation sifu under ip ching liniage so i know ip man wing chun. Ip man wing chun isn't really a short strike art any more but he new and said him self that wcs a sticking body short strike art. Hawkins cheng played at sticking body range so ip man did still teach it, some learned more off him than others. High bong sau has nothing to do with anything. Its known wing chun and weng chun are different arts.
