If you fight a decent boxer you will realize it’s no game. Lol. Most wing chun guys even after years of training cannot beat even an amateur boxer - in or outside of a ring. I say this as a former wing chun instructor and boxing trainer. I like to use both boxing with chi sao. It works. Ultimately, I don’t blame a style or martial art for the weaknesses of its fighters. I blame the fighters. One thing Master Wong has going for himself is a lot of fight experience. Most wing chun guys have no real fight experience. At most, most of them only spar people in their own school.

Relevant to the first comment, like you said you could win without using Ving Tsun. So it really does come down to the practicioner. I have taken a few martial arts including JKD and some Wing Chun and kick boxing. In my experience a lot of things go out the door that aren't practical or applied right. Muay Thai and Jeet Kune Do were the most practical forms of martial arts for myself. Some people do a lot better with a crane or traditional Wushu styles. Kick boxing and JKD helped everything else especially the training aspect. I was naturally already good at striking and timing so none of it really made me a lot better fighter, a little better but not a lot better. I have faced a lot of people that use martial arts more specifically mostly jiu jitsu, and taekwondo, kick boxer, and traditional boxer. I used everything the same way on all applications and in most cases I was the successor. I never had a set style in any sparring full contact or a real situation. In JKD you learn there is not 1 best of anything, so you need to apply what works.

very true but if you didnt know Wong Shun defeated a boxer with just three punches. Also Wing Chun has adapted alot and isnt the same martial art it was many years ago. Boxing has changed due to sport and so has many other martial arts aka taekwon do has both sides martial art and sport side maybe in a hundred odd years Taekwon do will just be a sport without the original martial art side

@Frankie16229 ай бұрын
The boxer may not follow the boxing rules but the more conditioned the opponent is as a boxer, the more a boxer is going to follow boxing habits (generally), which are formed based on it's rules. In other words, it may be more easier to anticipate an experienced boxer's movements because they have trained their movements for the boxing ring. Might be trickier to beat an amateur

Wong Shun-Leung has actually easily defeated a heavyweight Russian boxer that is weighed over 240 lbs and is 6’6 ft tall, and yet Wong Shun-Leung is only 5’4 ft tall and 120 lbs It is also said that before Wong Shun-Leung was sparring with boxing coach before accidentally hitting his boxing coach (No it’s not Ip Man Wong Shun-Leung has actually learned boxing before learning Wing Chun) in which his boxing coach got mad and Wong Shun-Leung used Wing Chun to beat the boxing coach and the boxing coach was bleeding on the ground

Modern western boxing is a sport like they say and part of what makes it is the gloves without gloves boxing becomes very different the gloves protect the hands and allow very different type of movments. Modern boxing is good but not ment for bare knuckle fighting people break their hands far too often even when they ware the gloves so you might win the fight but in the end you might sacrifice your hands to do it

I’ve never been taught wing chun but I’ve used wing chun type punching in street fights. Basically the straight blast more or less. Boxing gloves would make that type of punching merely an annoyance. But with bare fists when the punches are explosive in a short distance the damage is shocking & immediate. It’s not one punch KO although it could be. It’s more gashes, cuts, split lips, broken teeth, broken nose, eye swollen shut.

Maybe because mma people are a bunch of monkeys that don't understand the morals of martial arts, came up with a laundry list of rules to benefit their specific styles, act completely disrespectful towards anyone outside their circlejerk, have made martial arts to a capitalist corrupted shitshow to enterntain hicks and spend their time stalking and harassing people online instead of actually fighting?

There is not a single style of martial arts on the planet with peoples that have no proof whatsoever of any fighting that they’ve done but have thousands of followers around the world glorifying them based on lies and propaganda about all the fights they’ve had and never lost.Wing chun Kung fu to this day have not produced any fighter on the world stage that can fight using any wing chun technique whatsoever,not one single fighter.What happened to all the students of these so called legends when the UFC came around or even in full contact karate tournaments like the Mas Oyama tournaments,were was the students of Wong,Shu Shon Tin ,Emin Boztepe were was these guys or their students.I know were they are,they’re still sitting in a living room braging about all the fights their sifu had some over 300 fights and were never defeated,or doing some push hands demonstrations on some brainwash student who just stand there and don’t resist lying to themselves about some delusional woman that created the most dangerous fighting style in the world.Even their greatest patron Bruce Lee realized it was all bullsh*tt

For the record, there ARE successful UFC fighters who has incorporated Wing Chun into their style. You didn't bother to look them up didn't you? Anderson SIlva, Tony Ferguson, Jon Jones. Check out their fights. Note that 30+ years ago MMA wasn't as popular as it is today. Back then most people learned 1-2 styles and went with it in fights. I know a few guys who, back in their youth, before guns were everywhere, would get into street fights and win using wing chun. That doesnt' mean wing chun is invincible.. it means the user applied it the way that worked for him to win. Today, everyone learned that specific fighting styles has limitations in situations, therefore you need to learn multiple styles, or MMA, where you incorporate different techniques from different styles into your fighting style. I will agree that if you're a traditionalist in martial arts, you will have a very hard time in surviving real fights because you do not adjust and still have a stance like a box with your guard up.

And to this day the wing chun peoples continue with the bs he is talking about boxing and not a single wing chun fighter has entered the ring and prove him right not one,and the few that have entered any full contact fighting tournament weather its MMa or karate has being dispatched within seconds.So as i say what he is saying is pure BS.
