I have a friend who is a 5th degree black belt in Korean kuk sul wan. He described wing chun to me about 30 years ago as, "the martial art designed to fight a tiger inside a phone booth". He's right. Everything I've seen from you, (and at 75 I'm not as agile as I used to be), I can do. No wild kicks, or fancy moves that expend a lot of energy. Everything is in close, and easier to do. Thank you.

I really like this. There are so many nerve areas in the neck, I also enjoy attacking the TMJ joint and seizing the neck tendon new the Adam’s Apple……but as you said and I agree wholeheartedly you have to practice this stuff until it becomes second nature. Much Respect Master Wong,

@@masterwong101 Master Wong, i’m not sure there’s any secret to it, it’s good, old-fashioned hard training. Day in and day out week in and week out you gotta remain calm before the storm and then when is time to go, you put your whole body in mind and spirit behind your attack. Just like the Tiger.

Spot on Master Wong (pressure points). The younger generation see and want it all now, they don't understand years of training. I was often told it's when you get to the level of a black belt (belts are not my way of judging abilities) that's just the beginning. In the West people do Martial Arts for self-defence purposes only. But as you truly say it's a life thing it's every day you move to develop, you stand to develop, you turn side to side to develop. Stretching, I could do the full splits within my first year (playing years of different sports from a young age made it easier to become supple) Because other wise your talking years to become fully supple. My best friend (did kutashinky) said he use to wash his babies nappies in washing machine then wring each one out by hand now that's a lot of nappies each day/week.

@@masterwong101 For myself I started with Tai chi yang style for health reasons then also later Wing Chung. Because my type of work took me into very dangerous environments so that constant exposure was very stressful. Exercise gives relief and skills to deal with people who are aggressive . Martial Arts for me is escapism.

Yes. Women, oldies, kids can all learn. It was supposedly created by a woman and uses mainly leverage and technique and simple moments. Never brute force or fancy techniques which require you to be some super flexible or strong athlete. Of course it never hurts to have them too but anyone can learn to defend themselves. WC is the best for women or old people compared to stuff like kickboxing or TKD or boxing or whatever. Anyone can do eye jabs and groin shots or pressure point strikes. They will still work even if a 70 year old woman does it.

Thank you for this, I am a practicing Chin-Na (Qin-Na) in combination with Judo and combining it with the defensive style of the 52 blocks system from Master teacher Lyte Burly. I'm also very attracted to the Shuri-Te Ju-Jutsu system from Master teacher Troy Price. When I fight I naturally aim to attack the soft spots and joints of the body. I would like to see more videos from you branching out to other forms of Tai Chi, like the Chin-Na System or more pressure point and joint manipulation techniques, set-up or counters to various attacks. I have also been following you, Sifu Wong. I agree with your stand against bullying and I love how you have secretly been a teacher to many. 🙏🏾

@masterwong101 Through martial arts and the military, I've learned discipline, patience, and persistence. I'm more aware of my body and its limitations. Also, I have been able to open my mind to new things, and I'm more accepting of myself and others.
