This game was incredible. Played this all the time back in the mid-90's, along with TIE Fighter. Both were super good sims and incredibly immersive for a kid. I don't know how I came across those really high quality DOS games, but I'm glad that I did. You can't possibly watch the first 10 minutes or so of this video, and NOT want to play the game or find out what happens next.

I *adore* how they made the last few missions link on in this whole smugglin' kind of way. Really upped the tension and immersion as opposed to the usual "let's send you in w/ the whole fleet" climax.

Can we just give some credit for Chris Roberts and the entire cast who put together three moviegames together before hollywood got anywhere near it all over two hours if just the nongame play footage in a time when this was basically heresy. This series was EPIC and unforgettable and Chris has not stopped trying to bring this epic scale of games and film to this day.

It's a little annoying that the Flint only seems to ever quote her father or talk about what her brother did... it'd be more impressive if she didn't have to use them as a crutch so much. She should be able to be her own person, without having to quote someone else for 5 minutes.

My only real complaint about this game...couldn't they have hired a Military Consultant to come in, for 20 minutes, and teach these actors how to properly salute.
