I played all of these games at release back in the day. Especially loved the full motion video games with mark hamill. I actually played other full motion video games too, loved them all. Sadly they died out.

I've watched this clip a few times and each time I noticed something new. I'm not sure what's more impressive: how fluid the sprite work for the ships is or how well the lighting looks inside the cockpit. Turning 3D renders into sprites has been a thing for a long time, but these don't have that look I associate with them. For lack of a better way to say it, that glossy, filtered look of something like Rise of the Robots. Rather these look like they came from a '90s era software rendered game. Which makes them much nicer for my taste. Crunchy pixel goodness.
