I bought my first one over a year ago. Always used and loaded so two months ago and I bought another one. I find it very good because it writes in a fantastic way and does not dry out the nib.

Unbelievable price for what it is. Yes, I wouldn't mind a bit of feedback too. I have three transparent pens. I love the look of them and that you automatically check the ink status without even thinking about it.

I am really surprised by this pen. My biggest gripe is the lack of choice in nib widths.

Thanks as ever for your KZbin channel contribution to us all fountain penthusiasts. Past descriptions on YouTiube revealed that swappin pilot compatible M or B nibs result in long skips as the pen cannot cope with the increased ink floe required for those thicker tip nibs

Still it is a great pen and a huge bang for the bixk

It's great Video ... very informative. I was looking into this pen and the review was very helpful.

I had one, inked it up and left it in a draw for a while. When I came back to use it the lid cracked! A real shame as it holds a good amount of ink which is important to me.

What's up Garry! My issue with the Chinese pens is a bunch of them come in EF and F nibs only, where as I also prefer larger, preferably medium or broad. Do you know if there are more chinese pens coming with larger nib sizes, or perhaps a brand that does larger ones already?
@KendallW Жыл бұрын
100% yes! It's okay to have a few EF and F nibs, but I really want some broader nib choices.

I've got a few M nibs from some Jinhao, Kaigelu etc. I got one Majohn pen (S5) with a Broad nib.

I would consider this pen but if you cannot remove the section, it is not worth getting the pen. I need the section to be taken off the pen for cleaning. The price, though is excellent. Very good review, Garry.

I've just added a reminder to see if the section can be unscrewed. I've just tried a "small" turn on it and it does appear the section can be removed. I'll be able to confirm better once its run out of ink and I try and clean it.

I ran a search for ”disassemble 3013” and found a couple of videos confirming that the section unscrews from the body. Great, isn’t it!

I bought 3 of these, a clear one, a purple, and brown, all demonstrator. Something wrong with the clear, can’t get more than 1/4 inch ink in it, maybe I should take it apart? All 3 are EF nibs, which I usually get the F. The brown filled about 3/4 way, but is a very dry write, and yes I did partially unscrew the piston to write. I’ve taken a piece of brass sheeting to pull between the tines, it seemed to write wetter at first, but then it’s getting fainter. Still haven’t tried the purple one, maybe one out of 3 isn’t so bad😢. Makes me want to shy away from more expensive vacuum pens. Any suggestions?

The less expensive pens can cause some issues. I've got some videos on the channel looking at some starter pens. Depending on your budget something like the TWSBI Eco is a good starter and has a lot of different nib widths, the nib width will also make a difference in the amount of ink flowing. For Chinese pens I find Jinhao pens can be quite good. Again depending on budget you could look at the 992 or 82 models, or if you can stretch I would recommend the Jonhao 100. These pens are all cartridge convertor pens and generally come with a converter.

I bought 2 wing sung 3013 and both of them started to dry-out after half-page / page of continiusly writing. I though it was a problem with the feed or nib, so i ordered a pack of 3 nib and feeds. After swaping them the problem was still there. Then i though it was the ink, i changed it 3 times, it wasnt the ink, it still got dry wile writing a page. I filled it with water and watched what happened, the thing was that the bubbles of air got in the middle of the ink flow and it gets drier and drier when you write, i tried to adjust the plunger so many times, i unscrewed it, i screw it, but nothing hapened, the problem continued. It doesnt matter what i did, and how much the piston was screwed or not while writing, i couldn´t solve the problem. Trust me i did so many modifications, i spent hours trying the FP to work At the end i had to buy a Wing-Sung 699 transparent in order to have a functional demonstrator cheap vacuum filler fountain pen. Please Garry would you tell us if you have this problem with yours?

So far I haven't experienced this issue. I'll report back if I do.

I had this pen since January and at the start of February, the threads which connect the section to the body have cracked and the threads at the bottom have broken. I personally do not reccomend it and an asvine v126, wingsung 699 and that one penbbs vacuum filler is much better though costs a bit more
@KendallW Жыл бұрын
Super helpful, thank you. Can confirm the 699 is great, haven't been able to compare it to the v126 but would love a showdown of those 2 pens since they seem so similar. If you are reading this comment Garry, this would be a great video idea :)
@GarryEves Жыл бұрын
Thanks. I have a V169 which I really enjoy. I have just added Kendalls suggestion of a showdown between the 699 and V169. I have a PenBBS 268 (cheap piston filler) and also a 456 - I've also added a future video idea to compare these three.
@KendallW Жыл бұрын
@@GarryEves Clarification: not the V169 but the V126 which looks almost exactly the same as the 699. Sorry. And only if you have the interest in getting the v126 if you don't have it already.
