I would love to see Emin spar with Paul Vunak. Same age, same amount of training, both experts in trapping arts. It would be Wing Chun VS Jeet Kun Do but more importantly it would be 2 experts in very similar arts that use trapping and close in punching as their preference. I'd pay money to see those 2 guys go at it with head gear all out for 1 round. Bet that fight would sell better than a UFC championship fight. Go for it, Emin! Fight of the decade!

Take it from me folks straight no bullshit my brother has done boxing ju jitsu and wing chun for more than 10 years, they are all effective if you dedicate to learn there are good boxers and bad , as in wing chun ,but take my word when done right wing chun is an extremley serious fighting method . Growing up I have witnessed first hand many fights .Moral is it's not just the style but the dedication you set yourself.Peace

Wing Chun had a few generations of students in the Yip Man days. First Gen students were fighters. Good ones and they tested themselves in real fights all the time. Their students are like Emin. They are also fighters. They would gladly fight someone, regardless of style, win or lose. Master Wong's guys are like this too. They are down to test their skill. 2nd generation Yip Man students tend to be teachers but not fighters as much. 3 gen....no comment.

how come carlson gracie and rickson incorporate Wt into there street bjj system and yeah wing chun needs boxing and grappling kickboxing etc to make it more effective but it philosofies of hit before the other guy can works and get a angle to attack works and fast punching Works :) so my question to you have you done WT or just mma

very good question!!!!2 answers i guess. 1) the wing tsun fighters are not that professional. 2) Techniques above does not work when you face with professional well moving boxer...

@Kryptonian2525 at the end of the day there is no such thing as a bad style just bad teachers, this is a wing tsun seminar, its gonna make the style look good, if it was a karate, tkd, muay thai seminar, it would make these look just as good. the other thing is what make you think the guy is gonna attack you with a martial arts move, when was the last time you were attacked by a side kick, or you saw anyone being attacked by a roundhouse, it just doesnt happened, stop kidding yourselves!

I see many people saying, "Wing Chun isn't a sport, therefore it can't compete in MMA." People who comment this are paraphrasing others. They're not really thinking what they're talking about. If Wing Chun is for street-fighting, it should work against MMA in the ring too. The street is supposed to be tougher than the ring. Logic says it's easier to fight in the ring with MMA guys. But, why is Wing Chun guys contradicting themselves? Easy, they're mechanical, thus unable to fight naturally.

@btoma1000 Muai Thai is your understanding of SIMPLE martial arts? you can deploy 100% of Wt learning in 3 squared meters in less than 3 seconds. THAT is simple, not kicking your head off or being able to pull u to the floor. Most special forces carry a shitload of gear and cannot swing their body freely as they wish let alone kick someone at head height. Yes, special forces in Germany for example learn Wing Tsun. Look it up.

look, kung fu was develped by a woman for the use of defending ur self mainly on the streets against people who do not know a martial art, aswell as for people who are compitant in martial arts. Ido it and i learn how to block and counterattack kicks and punches from many martial arts such as tae kwon do. Effectively it is the martial art u would want to know in a fight as it is slightly less aggresive and risky then muay thai, but more violent then karate.

Ok...can we stop with the 'this style sucks' or 'this sport rocks' shit? Wing Chun is only, I repeat, ONLY about protecting yourself; it's not meant to be flashy, it's not meant to be 'deadly', it exists to defeat an enemy without ever being harmed. Is it an invincible style? No. Is it ineffective? No. My recommendation for those who talk up boxing or MMA, is to look at JKD, the predecessor to MMA developed by Bruce Lee (who's first style learned was wing chun).
