Kirby and the forgotten lands kinda uses the detail aspect. Kirby is just a little pink smooth simple puffball, surrounded by a beautiful realistic landscape.

3:41 1:41 Something I think is funny about the image you've used in Ponyo is how it sort of contradicts the point about emphasis in detail! I think one of the reasons why she stands out is 1: because of the contrast, but also to due with the lack of detail. (I get that it's animated so it needs to be less detailed for the animators sanity.) I thought it was pretty interesting. /pos
