The Railway Children. Edwardian Era Novel. Published in 1906. One Rainy day. The Three Waterbury Children in the waiting room at Oakworth Station in Yorkshire. I hope Mother doesn't get too wet. We don't want her ill again. Its like being in a sieged castle. The arrows & the bows striking agenist the battlements. Its more like a great big garden squirt. You're a great big garden squirt. Thank you. Stop it you two! There's a train coming. Oakworth. Oakworth Station. Its only a shower.

Castle looks wonderful in this reconstruction. Very much alive. I wonder if Anne of York ever stayed in there. I know she was gifted it in 1510, but she died in November 1511, so she wouldn't be able to enjoy it much.

Would this have been the home of Charles Brandon during his lifetime? If so, do his descendants still own what's left of the property? Thank you for posting this video. It was fascinating. Cheers from the US.

Charles Brandon didn't live in Wingfield, he lived in Westthorpe Manor in Suffolk which is now gone, as for his descendants only his daughters survived for long, most of the property he had went to his eldest daughter Frances (although he left enormous debts when he died) who had three daughters, they were all imprisoned for marrying without royal consent (since Charles had married Henry VIII's sister they all had claims to the throne) apart from Jane who was beheaded after trying to claim the throne (as was her husband, father in law and father) so Charles Brandons properties were most likely alienated out of the family, reverted to the state, or were seized by the crown following treason charges against his descendants.
