When I was so small my father go out, but he give me the secret about Bruce's music...Thunder Road is a way to feel, to live. Some people say that's the story about how love die after people. Congratulations from Spain

It must have been frustratin for Bruce to FINALLY make the decision on which version to put down on vinyl. Man, what a gift....
@galaxyroblox57573 жыл бұрын
He suffered every decision on this record. While I totally dig this version Angelina doesn’t have the same flow as Mary.

LYRICS: please help to fill in the gaps or correct me where necessary. The screen door slams Angelina’s dress waves Like a vision she dances across the porch As the radio plays Roy Orbison’s singing for the lonely That’s me babe and I want you only Don’t turn me home again I can’t face myself alone in that mirror again tonight Don’t run back inside, baby you know just what I’m here for So you’re scared and you’re thinking that maybe you ain’t that young anymore Show a little faith, there’s magic in the night You ain’t a beauty, but baby, ah, you’re alright And that’s alright with me This 44(2), she’s gonna overheat Make up your mind, girl, I gotta get her back out on the street I know you’re lonely like me, so baby don’t try and (???) I’m your prince and I can lay the stars at your feet But I got this old car and she’s pretty tough to beat There’s plenty of room in my front seat, baby, if you wanna take it Oh, roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair It’s like the rushing touch of dirty wings that highway angels wear But tonight we’re gonna find out how it feels I’m gonna trade in your wings for wheels Climb in the back, heaven’s waiting down on the tracks Oh, mama, come take my hand We’re gonna ride all the way to the promised land (???) dance all the way, dance all the way Oh I don’t know, but baby, I’ve been told There’s something waiting for us down that road Oh, I’m gonna take my chance, take my chance, take that chance Well now I’ve bought this guitar and I learned how to make it talk I’ve got my car parked out back if you’re ready to take that long walk From your front porch to my front seat I think we can take it all babe, just you and me Climb in the back, (???) Woah, come take my hand We’re gonna ride all the way to the promised land And we’ll dance all the way, oh Oh, baby, I don’t know what I’ve been told There’s something waiting for us down that dirty road If we take our chance, baby, take that chance Now the season’s over and I feel it getting cold God, I wish I could take you to some sandy beach where we’d never grow old Ah, but baby, you know, let’s just drive But tonight’s busting open and I’m alive Oh, do what you can to make me feel like a man But this 442’s gonna overheat Make up your mind girl, I’ve gotta get her back out on the street I know you’re lonely like me Oh, so don’t (???) Yeah, and baby I can lay the stars at your feet But I got this old car and she’s pretty tough to beat There’s plenty of room in my front seat Oh, if you think you can make it, climb in This is a town full of losers, and baby I was born to win

I think for the second verse he says, " I know you're lonely like me, so baby don't try and fake it" and then for the last verse he says "Oh, so don't fake it"

Love this version to bits! I always thought that Thunder Road would be so much better with this last verse played right before "We're pulling out of here to win." It seems that the part about ghosts would fit into a different song. But still... I love them both too much!

This whole concert is available on CD from Amazon - apparently there was some sort of gap in international copyright law where if a concert were broadcast over American radio that it was totally legal to sell it in the UK after 30 years from the original broadcast date. I don't have much of a problem with this kind of recording passing into public domain, (particularly if someone would release a CD of The Patti Smith Group concert that I saw in 1978 which was broadcast on our college radio station, but of which there aren't even any decent cassette tapes floating about), but there are a metric f*ckton of artists out there in similar situations who would probably appreciate a fifty-quid royalty cheque showing up in the post before Christmas.

anthony rossi Max and Roy had joined and their first gig was Sept 19 1974 at the Main Point. My first concert was the following night Sept 20 at the Tower Theater.
@marcoscabanasmaldonado29607 жыл бұрын
Actually Carter only recorded BTR from the record (it is the only surviving track recorded at 914 Sound Studios). The remaining tracks of the record were recorded at The Record Plant, with Max and Roy as new members of the E Street Band, replacing Boom Carter and Dave Sancious, who got together to form their own solo project, Tone.

I dig it but it sort of blows the intro he used in '78 at the Capital Theater out of the water.
