The criteria currently allocate 6 points for a Ph.D. and 3 points for an M.Phil., meaning candidates with both qualifications receive a total of 9 points. However, since 2022, the UGC has discontinued the M.Phil. program, making it inaccessible to new scholars. Granting extra points for a degree that is no longer available undermines the principle of equal opportunity and could potentially invite legal challenges. Such preferential treatment may be seen as discriminatory, as new candidates are deprived of the chance to earn these additional points. I have already submitted a representation to the JKPSC highlighting this issue. My suggestion is that M.Phil. should be awarded a maximum of 3 points, and those with both M.Phil. and Ph.D. should receive no more than 6 points combined. Early intervention is crucial to address this issue, as waiting for litigation could lead to prolonged delays.

OM has no exclusive right for these posts. Every now and then you keep talking about the injustice being done with OM courtesy of the new reservation policy. But have you ever spoken about the plight of the backward and marginalized section of j&k?? The ans is NO. Since 1947 J&K has been ruled by the elites, the high caste leadership majorly from OM having zero commitment to ameliorate the condition of the backwards. BJP did the right thing atleast.Cities and urban areas are provided with every means of livelihood apart from the infrastructure that provides immediate employment generation to the population residing in those areas. How would someone do his business (if he's not able to get a govt job) in a far flung areas where there is neither roads and markets nor tourism.
