40:03 - you may have missed this on p. 7 of the rulebook - "If the dice in the tray all show the same face ... you may first throw all 5 dice back into the birdfeeder." You had a couple of opportunities to do this.

I'm pretty pretty sure that on one occasion Anthony specifically bemoaned the fact that he didn't have the right food but failed to take advantage of the rule. And I also seem to remember there were TWO identical dice, so possibly they were thinking there had to be one for the rule to trigger. But in fact you can re-roll whenever all the remaining dice are the same.

25:00, correcting Frances' error of not playing the egg for the Condor, we also allow correcting errors after the fact while playing a game, no issue there, but not sure I'd agree with that particular correction given the benefit of the Condor getting a third egg for no cost. What I would have likely suggested for that correction, would have been for Frances to play the Condor in the wetland, which wouldn't have cost her an egg. It actually would have likely been a stronger play anyway, because her Nighthawk would have still been free to roam... so maybe there was a cost to keeping that Condor there afterall.

Wingspan is my favorite game. As well as owning all the tabletop expansions I also have the Nintendo Switch version. Since i began recording plays on an app in Aug 2023, I have played 277 games. I have played way more than that before beginning to keep stats. Most all my games are on Switch. Over 450 hours logged there.

At 26:50 Frances chooses the lay eggs action and puts out FOUR eggs instead of three. On top of not paying twice for eggs, that’s a huge advantage. Otherwise, good video, and thanks for running through this game.

Someone probably pointed this out already, but you weren’t supposed to refresh the face-up card at 10:17 - You refresh / replace the three face-up cards at the end of the round.

I have this game and have kickstarted Elizabeth Hargrave's next game on plants. I think it's beautiful which is a criteria for game purchases. Watching your game play (especially since you were learning it) solidified that it's on my dance card to play soon. One thing, I want to point out, is that this game is designed and created by women. @@truelifetales yep, they're just innocent bird names, but I get where they're coming from. I use the names to get reactions from family. I do wonder where some of the bird names come from. I suspect the name predates the slang equivalent though.

I am curious how much the bird house dice tower, card tray, and eggs add to the cost of the game. I know many see them as positive, but not if it raised the price a significant amount, not to mention making it a bigger box than it needs to be.

I like this game but Laying Eggs is too strong because at the last round you only get 5 turns. If you lay eggs 5 times then you can get between 20-25 points which is a lot. It just sucks when you decide to build Resource or Drawing because they aren't as strong as Laying Eggs.

Instead of playing birds last round you should've just layed eggs - you would get more points then you got from birds and objectives.. That's the problem of the game - You could have layed 20 eggs with all 5 actions (since you had 4 per action).. That's 20 VP

I really do not get the hype of this game...it looks like you're just playing a solo game, and that's certainly not what I think a board or card game should be like.
