I'm Turkish and my Romanian ex gf told me she didn't want anything serious. And she didn't like it when guys told her they loved her after only knowing her for a few days. 3 days after she started sleeping over and thus only 5 days after we got to know each other. She was the one that had told everyone she was my gf without even asking me lol. A week later she was picking baby names and talking about weddings. What happened to "I don't want anything serious" wtf. She also said she hated jealousy and was never jealous. Not only was she absurdly jealous. (she hysterically cried for 30 minutes because a girl I knew sent me a WhatsApp message asking how I was doing). She got really angry with me for not being jealous enough :/ She was a very sweet person but I wasn't looking for a serious relationship because I was in love with someone else (thst I thought didn't feel the same) so when she said she wasn't looking for anything serious I was actually really happy and figured we could just have fun and I could try to forget about the girl I actually loved as the attention of a pretty girl did somewhat distract me from my depression and lovesickness. Then before I knew it I had a gf and she basically moved in to my place She had a lot of other issues and was super manipulative. But I have no hard feelings. We eventually broke up and literally 2 weeks later she was dating a Romanian guy that had the same hair, beard and facial structure as me. This was a girl who hinted that she might hurt herself if we broke up... Not long after she married the guy and they had a kid. Anyway hope she's happy. As I said no hard feelings. Also her ethnicity is somewhat irrelevant. Crazy women / men exist in all cultures and races. But I still regret it and hate myself. In the end this girl moved on in like 2 weeks. While I missed the chance to date my dream woman who I was pretty sure was "the one". But because she told she might hurt herself if we broke up I didn't dare to break up with her. And in the end after we did broke up she moved on like it was nothing. I should have put a stop to the relationship the moment she told everyone she was my GF without even asking me. But I was depressed, scared of being lonely and thought the girl I actually loved wasn't into me onky to find out later she felt the dame way I did. Now thinking back it really hurts thst I missed the chance to be with the girl of my dreams because I didn't want to hurt the feelings of a girl that decided she was my gf without my consent

@@shmaisrael hey mate. True, it’s rare. I live in Istanbul-Turkey and I have the chance to graduate from good schools, plus using English everyday because I work in international sales. Most people don’t have this opportunity to access good education as population is getting more crowded everyday here with lower investments on education. That’s why what you heard is true. Usually people working in white collar jobs living in istanbul knows english. And some english teachers :)

My hubby, Turkish, said I love you, within 1 week. Freaked me out because I didn't know him well. But here we are, married, 3 years later. He's sweet, patient, and the best partner I could have imagined for myself. He gives me a compliment EVERY single day. Sadly I taught him the word "Fuck" and when to use it, so my compliments have extra emphasis. I taught him to cook, clean and be a good living partner. He loves to cook for me now especially when I have long work days. I can always count on my daily çay and simple breakfast. He's obsessed with making sure I'm fed and that I sleep well He's very possessive and jealous but he is not overly aggressive about it. I know his boundaries and he knows mine. Just as long as he know he's my priority and I'm not being overly flirtatious when talking to a man, it's never a topic we have. He's practically bros with my male best friends.

im a turkish girl, dont wanna ruin anything here but just in case i wanna warn you, he might be trying to get that citizenship as well because a lot of turkish people are after that as well right now. so especially if you ever feel like he might be "too into"you or trying to get you hooked to him too much, or if you ever feel like "this guy is a bit too good for me, whys he all over me" it might be the citizenship. just trying to help a girl out so youre not used. but i truly hope you loves you and something genuine. pro tip: never ask him or talk about citizenship because obviously he is gonna deny it and will try everything in his power to prevent you from believing that he's gonna use you for it, cause thats what they do, until they get your full trust until you sign those marriage papers, remember, people do that for 50k dollars at least and youre doing that out there for free AND getting your heartbroken as well. so make sure he is HONEST, please. wishing you the best! xx

Saying "I love you" is not a big thing in Turkey but in America it is a big thing as far as I understand, I quess. But like you said they may not really mean it, it's just a normal sentence for relationship in Turkey. In America people say that when they really do love you. So that's a weird thing for foreigners but we got used to it. 😄

I had no idea about Turkish men when I met my ex. I thought him saying I love you to me after a week was one of his personal problems and him being possessive that he was probably just crazy😂 I never took the time to research the culture and it led to huge issues where I left him and might have taken his good intentions for granted. My older sister married married to a Turkish man. She little lucky on 'cleaning and cooking'cause the husband have a big mansion and hired lots of staff doing everything for her.. But she little unlucky when it come to freedom. She only can come out either with her husband (most of times) or the bodyguards (at least 5 or 6 of them and emergency only). And definitely she has to cut relationship with female and male friends. Male she can talk and smile are father, only us her blood siblings and uncle and grandfather. She not allowed to have smartphone. We talk to her with conference computer installed at her house 24 hours online. But my sister never complained. Cause her husband shower her with loves (very romantic Turk) they live in their own world like no one else with them. I never thought my sister who had friends around the world can live that kind of life. But my friends said.. if they have that kind of husband. Tall man. Good looking guy with green eyes .. super Rich. And crazily in love with the wife ..they too agreed the if the freedom taken.😣

Thank God was normal open mindes as he is born in UK but his mum was Iranian dad Turk he wasn't as possessive as i was as i am mixed race too ...i was more controlling lol but he loved it he proposed to me after one hr said i love you after half an hr let's see if we return back for good we both are just crazy in love hehe so alike. Goin on 9th year he stoll loves me wants family witg me i left him gotten married divorced after 3 weeks he took me back forgave me i even written a novel about us it will be published soon in 6 languages and both of us are Muslims have so much in common now i just ended my last engagement and told him if he asks me to be his wifey for 9th time will finally elope & marry him and have our babies. English is not so common in turkey. You have to be very rich in turkey to speak English lol. So majority of them don’t speak or understand English. You will have to learn Turkish. Trust me it will be more benefit for you. Thank you 😊
