Leuk om te zien, de Winkelwaard was voor ons als kinderen in de jaren 80 een leuke speelplek om door heen te fietsen. Over de galerijen, de houten en betonnen loopbrug. Op de brug besjes schieten met een blaaspijp op auto's. Mooie herinneringen! Dank voor de video!

Mooie herinneringen aan de winkelwaard! Ook daar opgegroeid in de jaren 80, helaas daarna verhuisd, veel gespeeld op de galerij, loopbrug en winkelpasage.

I lived in Huiswaard 2 from when it opened (ca. 1976) to 1980. When our family moved in there was still loads of construction all around us. Fond memories of this precinct. My daily life experiences as a kid wandering from Lekerwaard through Winkelwaard, over the bridge to my primary school, De Vogelboom. At this time it was a thriving village with Winkelwaard the heart. Here we did all our grocery shopping, bought all our birthday cakes, spent our pocket money on patat met, my first bike was also bought here. Living now as an adult in a country far far away that does town planning badly, I often reflect back to this as a model town plan. Kind of sad to see that that is not so? Perhaps that the school was decommissioned meant the bridge overpass/walkway was not relevant anymore? I certainly wouldn't have been able to walk safely between home and school without this. From an aesthetic point of view, it was a beautiful bridge and sad to see it removed. Thanks for sharing this video and bringing back memories.

Het idee van zo'n dorp-in-een-stad is nog steeds leuk, maar overlast is inderdaad lastig te weren. Jammer.
