One of the most appealing parts of the new 2023 Winnebago Hike 100 1316SB small travel trailer is that it's small enough to be hauled around by, well, just about any vehicle you'd think about towing with. Weighing in at less than 3,000 pounds, the new Winnebago Hike 100 1316SB can be towed by the Subaru Outback Wilderness, the Ford Maverick, the Hyundai Santa Cruz...basically, any vehicle with a manufacturer-suggested tow rating.
Families need not apply: as Winnebago's own pictures suggest, the Hike 100 small travel trailer is sized more for a couple (and maybe a dog or two) than for gaggles of adults and children. The trailer stretches less than 16 feet from stem to stern - shorter than many full-size pickup trucks. Plus, it's less than seven feet wide, which means your tow vehicle doesn't need special mirrors to see what's happening behind you.
Of course, you buy a camping trailer like this not to live inside - if you want that, get an Airstream Classic - but to enjoy the great outdoors. To that end, the Hike 100 packs awnings on three sides that deliver coverage from sun and rain to more than 200 square feet of extra space around the trailer, shielding the outdoor kitchen nook, door and storage access points. The awnings also reconfigure to become a changing room or privacy partition for the outdoor shower, should you feel like cleaning off outside.
The Hike 100 also packs what Winnebago calls an "exoskeleton" - in other words, a series of mounting points to hold gear. Said exoskeleton is designed to work with Thule add-ons, making it easy to attach things like canoes, paddleboards, kayaks and so forth. Better yet, it's designed to allow you to haul gear without blocking the 190-watt solar panel on the roof.
The Hike 100 offers five different interior layouts, but they all share certain characteristics: a small kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, a sink, a wet bath with shower and toilet and sleeping room for at least two people.
The layout seen here, the H1316FB, features an interior dominated by a queen-sized bed with a small loft bed / storage area above and behind. Other floor plans feature dining areas with drop-down beds, bunk bed / dinette combinations, couch / Murphy bed combos and loft bed / drop-down bed combinations - each of which also offers different cargo storage areas. (The one seen here, for example, has an outdoor-accessible storage area below the loft bed where an outdoor kitchen lives.)
Like the kitchen sink, the wet bath (which doubles as a gear drying area) is fed from a 31-gallon freshwater tank; the water heater packs a six-gallon capacity, so both occupants should be able to score a decent hot shower. The gray water tank holds 25 gallons, while the dreaded black water tank holds just shy of five.
With no stove or oven (of the non-microwavable kind), the Hike 100 isn't exactly a chef's dream, but it still packs features designed to make meal prep as easy as possible - like, for example, a roll-out countertop. And thankfully, even tall folks don't need to fear working inside: the Hike 100 packs 77 inches of interior height.

I bought a Hike 172BH for $25k, has bunks, a queen bed/dining area, stove and sink, inside and outside, shower, sink and toilet, 22" flat screen with DVD and radio and I pull it with a 2018 Honda Pilot, with no issues, except the hills.

A feature they should add would be anchors under the benches, to allow to fix some storage there and increase its versatility. And if i was to nitpick, I'd say the sink area would benefit from a window or something. That being said it really is a super cool unit. But that MSRP, ouch. I wonder how many of these will be sold. Your cargo carrying capacity is around 1000 lbs. I don't think a golf court is doable, but definitely a scooter or something of similar size.

I assume that the trailer does not have a drive train. If I'm correct that there is no power going to the wheels, why are there high traction tires on the trailer? I would think and would want smoother tires for less rolling resistance. I know they look really rad, but, in my view kind of not needed.

This unit is targeting tow vehicles that can't always handle the weight of a 20 ft unit. One thing we really focus on at Miller's RV is listening to how our customers want to use an RV and then matching a model that fits those needs.

The top bed is a platform with a regular mattress. It pulls down to rest on the rails you see on the wall so you get two queen size bunks.

I’m not trying to be negative, but a convection microwave oven is an oven. Open it up and look up. There’s your oven. I know you said you didn’t like ovens so you’re glad they put a convection microwave in there… That’s an oxymoron. It’s a microwave oven. It’s also a regular oven.

Understand your point but what I think Cam is trying to convey is the difference in using an "RV oven" which I find much more difficult to achieve the same results as at home VS a convection which cooks more like a home oven. The primary difficulty I have on the traditional RV oven is having an LP gas flame providing the heat directly underneath and very close to the cooking racks. I have tried lowering the temp but then my times are guess work. I've also tried placing a baking stone under the pans which has helped some. One final recommendation is to get an oven thermometer to use instead of trusting the dial.

Looking for something, should be able to be pulled by a 2007 Mustang V6 will be most likely pulled by something like a Dodge Ram 1500. Should have shower and toilet, inside cooking, no microwave convection oven please. Inside height, don't worry I am 6'6", not likely to have enough height for me, just make sure the bed will be enough. 2-3 years last kid will be out, me and the wife want to do some traveling. A trailer like this would do I think.

The roof panels are still OSB unfortunately. The interior walls are still a wood fiber board. Prices are about 2x what they should be. Needs duel pane windows and at minimum a window added to the wetbath. I do like them but price is way off when they have 19ft Bunk houses listed at 24k😆😆

Winnebago has serious quality assurance issues. It took them 1.5 years to fix a broken fridge from the factory. It was bought new. Not to mention the cheap builds these days

I hate to hear that. It is sometimes difficult with appliance warranties because they are not directly warrantied by Winnebago but by the manufacturer of the appliance. I just hate that your unit was down for that time, we want people to be able to enjoy their RV's!
