I like that Winnebago did not put ‘stuff’ such as storage shelves, paper holders, mirrors, etc. in the finish of the trailer. We put storage shelves, units, hangers where they would work for our life style, rather camping style. The blank trailer gives you so much versatility in decorating, and creating storage that works for individual owners. Use command hooks and boxes all over. Amazon sells many clear types of storage boxes/containers which adhere to the walls. We put a mirror on outside of bath door so hubby can shave at kitchen sink with ease. Using command hooks on wall at bunk and wall at top of fridge, hang curtain (we use shower curtain since it has holes, folded in half lengthwise) to create privacy when sleeping in bunk and for creating extra room when dressing. Use small plastic tub that fits in part of sink for washing dishes or body, shaving, etc., then throw out on grass or trees to avoid filling gray tank. Of course, use environmentally friendly soap & wipe grease out with paper. We like our trailer and enjoy our time with it.

We have the same issue with the tanks when we bondoock. It's only two of us so we can extend whenever possible. Thinking about buying one of those little honey wagon to empty gray tank properly. That pizza stone looks like your perfect solution. Safe travels.

I guess I now realize why the tank sizes are a spec thats worth paying attention to! Thankfully we have been pretty good for our weekend trips with just 2 extra 6 gallon jerry can's and then dumping when we get home. The honey wagons seem legit, but I can't get my head around all that weight on a ladder or carrying around.

I have a 12x12 square pizza stone in my oven, I've made 2 loaves of bread in there so far. I put the loaf pan over to one side and halfway through the bake move it to the other side. The bottom doesn't burn if I do that. Also did you know you can use the burner as a broiler? Just put the pan below the burner. I learned that little tidbit on another youtube channel.

Another great video! Thanks for sharing. One of my major concerns with us getting a 2100BH is the bed. I am 6' 2" so I'm curious how much room I would have. My wife is a foot shorter than me so no problems for her. This is the main reason we've also been considering the 2306BHS. Plus a little bit more storage space wouldn't hurt.
@ChadwickFamilyFilms
@ChadwickFamilyFilms 3 жыл бұрын
I’m 5’-11” and my feet are right at the edge. The bed in the 2100bh is a regular full-size bed. However, there is another 2”-3” at both the head and foot of the bed as well. So it will definitely be tight for you, but still might work. We went with the 2100bh due to its light weight because when we bought it, we had a smaller tow vehicle. In hindsight, now that we have the truck, we might have liked the 2306bhs better. But still happy with our decision!

Well, we are about to pick up our Micro Minnie 2108DS. Winnebago has indeed stepped up its game on mattress and oven. It is a convection microwave with top grill elements for browning. I have a convection micro at home so familiar but this is smaller. We are just a traveling couple and will bring an outdoor BBQ as well. The bathroom does have storage under part of the sink and shelves in each side of the toilet and yep, a toilet paper holder. Maybe great owners as yourselves gets the message out. 👍. Good to know on the tasks issue as we expect to be doing some boon-docking as well. Thx for the tips!

I hope some info in this rather long post will be helpful to someone and their future purchase of a camper. I don't think you can overthink this expensive commitment. I have a Micro Minnie 2106 that I LOVE LOVE LOVE. It's very well made compared to less expensive trailers which were so shoddy they were already coming apart parked on the lot. I'm fairly new to trailer camping and thank you for your helpful videos especially Winterizing. Many thanks! I find with very liberal use the two of us fill the gray water tank in 3 days and with very conservative use we can extend to 6. There is only the one bed and one of the two couches folds into what I would call an emergency sleeping accommodation for a co-camper from a tent during a storm or a toddler but otherwise it only overnights 2 people reasonably. I agree with your assessments of the features you don't like as we have found the same and I would add there isn't a speaker zone that includes a speaker over the bed and the interior zone speakers have to be blasted in order to hear when watching a movie from the bed. We're considering getting a sound bar but wish for a factory installed speaker zoned for the sleeping area. Same thing for reading lights. There is only a large ceiling mounted light impractical to use while lying in bed; it's blinding. Another issue, there was no splash guard on the wall adjacent to the stove that was easily solved with self adhesive tile and we also put it in the bathroom around the sink. We bought the 2106 specifically with a Murphy bed oriented in a way we don't have to climb over one another and with two couches because we want to stay married. The shorter Murphy mattress (by several inches) probably won't work for some people. The storage is indeed surprisingly skimpy! Without kids we considered buying the 2100BH and use the bunkbeds for storage but decided on the 2106. I feel I have room for food products and a small amount of cookware but not for clothing especially bulky winter garments. The closets adjacent to the bed have a lot of storage space but it's inaccessible! long and narrow and unless you tie a rope to your stuff there is no way it will be retrieved when it slides out of reach. We're constantly shuffling totes back and forth and inside to outside perhaps an expected task of camping in comfort. However, my Tacoma can pull this lightweight trailer and a 22' is as large as we want to go. It has all the comforts we want without being either unwieldy or too compromising. I agree the thermostat is touchy and the comfort appliances furnace and ac power on and off constantly failing to be able to maintain a temperature even in moderately cool and moderately warm weather. I can't imagine how it would be in extremes. Thank you for the oven stone trick I will try that to remedy the burning I too have experienced. It's such a tiny oven I use much lower temperatures to bake and warm than in my house oven. Pluses to the 2106DS are the dual wheel axels, a lovely shower, a mirror and bathroom storage vanities, a double kitchen sink, the included dual propane tanks and power jack, and many others. I think with trailer camping it should be expected there will be personalized adjustments that must be made over time that are worth it in order to continue camping while also having the conveniences of a modern camp trailer.

You could boondock for a lot longer if you replace your toilet with a composting toilet and combine your black and gray water tanks into one large grey water tank. This would give you 50gal of graywater storage, instead of the 25 you have now. Plus, you would save a ton of freshwater by changing toilets, because your camper's toilet uses your drinking water to flush with. When I buy a camper, I will be doing this, I've heard great things about the nature's head composting toilet too.

Love your review and all your video, I am about to pick up the same RV next month. The dealership offer 7 years extended warranty for $2700 CAD you you think it’s worth it to get it?
@ChadwickFamilyFilms
@ChadwickFamilyFilms 3 жыл бұрын
We’re typically not huge fans of extended warranties. If you are even a tiny bit handy with fixing things, I would suggest you save that money on the extended warranty and either fix things yourself or have a mobile RV tech come when you need repairs. One of the biggest downsides of extended warranties is that when you take it to the dealer for a warranty fix, it almost always takes forever to get parts and do the repair. So you risk missing out on a big chunk of your camping season if you get stuck in that position.

I believe it was the Liquid Nails “Fuze-It” that we used. Just be careful because a little goes a long way and too much will ooze out the sides and make a mess. Yes. Our 2100bh does have an external propane connection. You just have to make sure to buy the right adapters for it to connect your stove so that you don’t end up being double regulated (there is a regulator at the propane tanks and usually one on your stove, so you have to bypass the one at the stove).

In hindsight, yes, I think the 2306bhs might have been the way to go. However, when we bought our camper, we had a smaller tow vehicle with 5,000lb tow capacity. So the 2100bh was as large as we felt comfortable going (which was maybe even pushing the limits some). Still happy with our 2100bh for now, but when the time comes to upgrade, we will definitely have more options now that we have the F-150 to tow with!

Is the build quality good? I am looking at a 2108 DS - one slide with dinette and a murphy bed (no bunk). They keep the tanks small in order to be light weight. Also, the oven is not built by Winnebago, so they have no control on how it cooks. However, they could choose a better, higher-end model for their trailers, but the price will increase.
@ChadwickFamilyFilms
@ChadwickFamilyFilms 3 жыл бұрын
We have been pretty pleased with the overall build quality. We have had a few little minor things to repair, but expected to need to do that with any trailer. Beyond that, our only major issues is that our furnace has stopped working twice. About to take it in for a warranty repair for the second time on that. Otherwise all has been good. And for the oven, we found a pizza stone that fit perfectly in the bottom and that us made a big difference in how things cook!

@ChadwickFamilyFilms

They essentially do make it with the Murphy bed. It’s just a different model, the 2306bhs. Our 2100bh is just a little too short for the Murphy bed to fit. So you have to go up to the 2306bhs and then you get it. We liked the shorter length and lower weight of the 2100bh though.

Hi Karen. If you are just trying to pick up some over the air channels, you have to do a “scan” on the TV itself. And if you go to a different location, you’ll need to rescan. Depending on where you are and how remote you are though, you may not pick up a ton of channels. Also, there is an antenna booster button located underneath the cabinet above the tv. Make sure that is turned on before you do the scan. Hope that helps!

Throwing extra fresh water in the back of your truck, and suggesting others do it, without discussing weight isn’t responsible. Many tow vehicles are already overloaded. Adding ten gallons of water adds eighty pounds plus the container. Placing that water at the very rear of the truck may also be a bad idea.

Thanks for the comment. Overall, we’ve actually been super happy with our Winnebago. I think no matter what brand you get, you are going to have some small issues along the way as these things are literally houses on wheels and take a lot of jostling around. But 50 problems all at once sure does seem like a lot. We’ve only had 1 or 2 minor things.

Water is not an issue get a jug and camp near a river thermostats dont use it. or move it. Mattress is a personal choice not winnebago issue. You have no storage because you have bunk beds. I think you dont even have a winnebago because the radio and tv is not winnebago also the cabinets are not winnebago I think you got ripped and maybe it was a winnebago at one point but it was strip basically you trailer is a knock off sorry

This is a 2020 Winnebago and the cabinets, tv, radio are the stock ones that came in the 2020 MicroMinnie line. Definitely not a knock off. Came straight from the factory and looks just like all the other 2020 Winnebagos.

@@ChadwickFamilyFilms no disrespect but your info is incorrect fortunately I knew you were going to disagree on this and I already checked with the factory I also have a neighbor that has a Winnebago and the TV and radio and mattress do not confirm with Winnebago standards according to Winnebago some factories or not expected by Winnebago and there are production of knock-offs this is unfortunate but this happens throughout many Industries Nike Lincoln Cadillac Verizon Microsoft and also the thermostat is not near the door where it should be the panel for your controls for the slides water pump air condition it's supposed to be in close and have a door so that when you open a window or open the front door the elements do not hit this panel because it's 10 is very sensitive and very important Winnebago covers Us yours is not covered I mean no disrespect and I'm sure this is upsetting and shocking and probably overwhelming but you have a knock off is also happens with the Dodge Rams if they are building the US they are wonderful trucks to have that if they are built in Mexico there are all junk and trash they are knock-offs even though a lot of these knock-offs are sold by Dodge they are made with inferior material so again no disrespect but you did not get the top quality Winnebago is known for turn on the front of your trailer the Winnebago design is also off 5.9% very subtle but comparing it side-by-side with the actual Winnebago design you can see there is a slight difference which proves yours is a knock off I even once saw a Ferrari and I could have sworn it was real but lucky me a friend of the family they sell Ferraris and they informed me that this was just a knockoff built off of a Fiero body frame this knockoff became popular and they started calling them kit cars so they wouldn't get sued I hope you find this information useful and do some shopping around and resolve your issues happy camping

@@ChadwickFamilyFilms and here's the kicker your oven is incorrect in order for an oven to cook evenly the plan has to come from underneath that's not the same frame as a top of your stove in your video you can see the flame comes from the side and it looks just like the stove Fram this is not an oven style flame open style would be a horseshoe pipe or how do I phrase this through text a pipe that resembles a squiggly line a snake or a river and it has a bunch of little holes in it at the gas goes through and lets out heat but no direct Flame so that tells me you don't have to Winnebago oven also couldn't tell by looks like your stove is only a two burner this is also incorrect the TV is supposed to be a Jensen because most TVs are made for residential homes residential homes do not bounce on the road Jensen came up with a more sturdier TV to handle the constant stress and bouncing around that happens while you travel many people have complained about their TVs not working properly pixel damage hairline cracks another issues because they are using residential TVs in their trailers as for your stereo I know is incorrect cuz in my youth I used to steal stereos and I had to learn real quick which were knock-offs and which were worth money that stereo is a knock off and ain't worth spit again no disrespect I also didn't get a chance to thank you for responding to my comment and I can't stress enough that I am not trying to be rude or crude or disrespectful I do have an issue with people getting ripped off I promise you you're getting ripped off I hope that it was useful information that's not all factories are up to code and standards have you bought it from a dealership you honestly don't know where the trailer came from even RV World Is Under Suspicion for using substandard parts for their trailers and they sell all kinds of brands so please don't be so naive and again no disrespect
