What you call greed, I call the consequence of Dodge v Ford. The Dodge v Ford case results in a precedent that means that a US corporation can only consider two things, the legal liability of shareholders and shareholder profits. From that point of view, EA is an excellent company. Look at their stock prices for a 1 year term and 5 year term. Steady growth. 5 years ago, they were at ~$22. Now, they are at ~$146. It doesn't help that everyone talks about how EA is basically shitting into the mouths of gamers all the time, yet they still buy their products. It's silly to blame something for doing the thing it's both designed and required to do or "Don't hate the player, hate the game.". It's much more reasonable to blame the only entity in this equation with freedom of choice, the consumer.

I'd say the hype for Anthem was dead on arrival. First, it's EA. That's a major blow to any potential hype. Second, it's post-ME3 Bioware. That's another hit to the hype. Then it's not Mass Effect. They have a perfectly good sci-fi IP that people already care about, and for some fucking reason they don't want to use it and just expect people to get invested in a brand new universe we know nothing about, and they haven't given us a single fucking reason to care about it. And then they're obviously just chasing after the Destiny crowd, once again copying the latest "big thing" as EA always fucking does. It was also just a terrible show. I'd say the hype was already dead, the coffin nailed and lowered into the grave, and the E3 presentation was just throwing the dirt into the hole. There weren't even any mourners at the ceremony.

Well I think the reason its not Mass Effect is a bit predictive when you look at Fallout 76, Bioware knows that if they do a Mass Effect game like Anthem, they will get 'we don't want a Mass Effect Online' response that will drown any other discussion. Since this isn't Mass Effect, that gets bypassed. So instead we get a fresh brand Bioware made Destiny clone, that looks visually stunning and agency boring.

It's probably not that gamers are too stupid to realize it, but more... Once EA buys a developer you like, that developer is dead. The most you can do is buy what games they do put out and hope that by doing well they can get one or two more games out for you to enjoy before EA finishes killing them. Boycotting games made by good developers after EA buys them probably won't stop EA anyways- their sports games make so much money they'll probably never stop what they're doing. Hopefully developers stop selling themselves to Unicron as chewtoys.

Urazz The only reason why Anthem won't have lootboxes is because EA needs to earn some trust back ( if that's even possible ) after what happened with Battlefront 2. I'm pretty sure they had to actively remove lootboxes because they were most probably incorporated in the original game idea. Sadly, Bioware and Dice most probably have zero choices of their own when making and creating games due to being EA's largest and best game making studios. Best in the past sense sadly.

At that point in time they hadn't "deleted the game" so much as it didn't exist in the first place. At the time of E3 2018 the game was about 6 months into actual development and was staged to be released the following year. The in engine fly-bys you see in the conference were likely THE ONLY persentable footage of the game at that point.

I just got done playing through the Mass Effect trilogy for the second/third time the other week and when I got to the end of 3 I just got so depressed. I managed to snag Andromeda on the PS4 for £3.49 or something so I was happy to play it but after finishing Mass Effect 3 I just can't bring myself to get beyond the first 5 or so hours of Andromeda. Bioware is truly dead and I'm about to go listen to that sad ME1 start up music and cry.

My personal winner for E3 is Doom Eternal. It may not have showed much but what it showed was pretty freaking awesome. It really showed off the crumbling setting, you could see some old favorites (Arachnotrons, Archvile, Pain Elemental) and Doom Guy himself is sporting similarly classic colors. Add that to what sounds like a remix of At Doom's Gate and you've got a winner.

I think the one thing I appreciate the most about it, especially compared to games like Call of Duty or Battlefield, is it isn't trying to sell you on all this radically game changing shit that's more or less just following a trend that's not going to last. It's over here saying hey, you like the last game? Here's more of that, let's raise some Hell! If anything, most of the added stuff seems to purposefully invoke feelings of nostalgia since the setting and most of the new enemies (Minus the sworded Baron) are from Doom II.

The Blu Crocoduck I doubt it, as they've already done that before. I think it's far more likely that they are going to focus on her struggle to lead a normal life due to the fractured psyche she might have from all the violence she has either had to bear witness to or inflict. Perhaps she finds out what became of her mother and who or what is to blame and goes after them because the hunt for vengeance is something she understands better than a life where you're walled in.

I don't know if this is a universal feeling, but I've kinda got the picture that Last of Us was never meant to have a sequel. It was perfectly well rounded off at the end with no massive loose plot threads or obvious cliffhangers. As it doesn't appear a sequel had been planned from the start, I'm just paranoid that they'll do what almost all companies do and just retread old ground because what worked the first time'll usually work the second time.

For me, the winner this year was Ridley finally being playable in Super Smash Bros. My God, I've waited 17 years for this to happen, and it was GLORIOUS! I practically swam in the tears of joy I was shedding! ...Too bad for you Waluigi fans (and to a lesser extent Bomberman fans) though. But don't give up! Personally, I'd love every video game (EVERY VIDEO GAME) to have some hidden Waluigi mode in which you play as, fight against, or find some bizarre Waluigi thing. I want Waluigi to be what Deadpool is to comics. That quirky weird monster that is everywhere for no goddamn reason other than because he can. Beat Zelda? Unlock a Waluigi mode to play as the Waluigi of Time. Beat gears of war? The locust can replaced by Waluigi. Replaying Walking Dead? Kenny can now be Waluigi. The possibilities are stupid and endless.

Well PC does not need recognition unlike consoles since they need to prove their worth while PC's on other hand have their worth even without gaming & thus great games coming PC is great. They focused on goty worth games. I mean they also revealed a fromsoft psvr game, nioh 2, etc. Microsoft only revealed a new halo, gears, and forza, while revealing a teaser for battletoads. Also even with all the studios microsoft bought (2 of which already made xbox one exclusives anyway) and new games they revealed, they are still drastically behind sony and nintendo in quality and quantity for upcoming games (and current of course)

In all fairness Daisy is eleven years older than Waluigi. The least she could get is being a clone fighter. Waluigi can hopefully get into Smash in a future installment. Oh no there were DEFINITELY people who wanted Ridley. He's a fucking space-dragon-pirate that killed Samus's parents (and in his more popular renditions is sadistic as fuck rather than a wild beast). Metroid really only had Samus and zero-suit Samus, so having the one who killed her parents and keeps haunting her is a real thing. Mario and Fire Emblem for instance have so many characters that if Daisy weren't a clone we'd have a bunch of people complaining about over representation of Mario like we did for Fire Emblem. Waluigi is the one with more memery going on for much of the Smash peeps from what I see and understand unfortunately >_>.
