The film is called Mickey's Mouse Trap, and they're being much more careful, as what's actually out of copyright is Steamboat Willie, and the cartoon mouse in that film. We know that character is Mickey Mouse, but he's not referred to like that in Steamboat Willie, so they were very particular to base the horror film around an old exhibit showing a reel of Steamboat Willie.

One thing that I do like about this movie is the relationship between Pooh and Christopher Robin, like the opening scene and the flashback of their time together you can tell Pooh valued their friendship and genuinely felt abandoned and betrayed after Christopher left, I really like how the director did showed that type of emotion in this movie 😢

At the time they made this movie, only the first Pooh book had hit public domain. That one only had Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore. By the time the sequel comes out, more books that introduced other characters will be in PD, so we'll get Owl and Tigger.

You already know the movie you are walking into when you see the terrible acting especially Christopher Robin “PIGLET NOOOOO”, the cheap look of the characters literally just men in masks, the title of the movie and the cheap looks of most of the kills. Honestly, I'm not sure why everyone shit on this movie when you announced you were watching it. They must hate fun! This is not a good movie by any means, but it's stupid fun, and sometimes that's more important than good. The sequel better have a scene of Tigger crushing someones skull by bouncing on his tail, or I'm gonna be mad! Lastly, this movie continues my belief that any horror movie that has a pool scene in it is automatically better than the pool scene in It Follows.

Eventually, i'm hoping for a reaction to The Boys tv series. Yes, its more of a comic book show but its also very gross and disturbing, which isnt surprising given its being produced by the creator of Supernatural. Also, one of the main characters is a DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11, which James A Jannise from Dead Meat finds Mortal Kombat horror adjacent. There is a reason why this movie is so terrible, and also why the person who made it advised others against doing things like this (like the new film Mickey's Mouse Trap) and the reason is that they got hit by copyright woes before the film even came out, and they had to re-write and basically re-do almost the entire thing last minute. Although the original story entered the public domain at the start of that year, the original story didn't include, for example, Tigger, Pooh as a yellow bear with a red shirt, and a whole load of other characters and plot points. That's why the resulting film hastily writes out every character apart from Pooh and Piglet right at the start.
