I don't really know about Japanese bands, although I DO know that some of them have strong ties to American conductors (like Alfred Reed, for example). As for US bands, a lot of them tend to overblow/overplay. Thus, they don't have good balance, intonation, good sense of tempo (will usually play things too fast when loud and too slow when not-as-loud). This band, like most German bands, don't try to out play each other but play TOGETHER as an ensemble.

Hab ich live im wdr gesehen, wenn ich mich recht entsinne... Ziemlich geil und perfekt, wenn ihr mich fragt !!! MfG Mal ganz nebenher, auswendig zu spielen und dabei noch so ne Choreographie zu machen ist schon genial !

ou man, jetzte habe ich mich so gefreut, dass wir sowas schönes bei uns in regensburg haben (bin regensburger) und dann muss ich hier von achimsh lesen, dass es die nichmehr gibt...da kann man nur froh sein, dass die undorfer auch was kleines auf die beine gestellt haben^^

Jerec576: Search them out you will find that some Army Bands are virtual Orchestras. French army divisional bands are superb, so are the British Royal Marine bands. I suggest you look up ' Royal Marines Beat retreat' also the German post on KZbin for ' Marsh des Yorcshen Corps' quite brilliant! Enjoy!!

German bands sound better for several reasons. 1. Many great composers (We have onlySousa) 2. They have more heavy brass,alto horns and tubas. 3. Their musical schooling is different. I lived there and dealt with the German military. I can remember seeing and hearing one mediocre military band. Every village has its band to plan marches and polkas. I played in one. Leider habe ich dieses Video erst vor einem halben Jahr entdeckt. Ich bin davon ganz begeistert und besonders fasziniert haben mich die beiden Tschinellen. Kann mir jemand sagen, wo die Beiden abgeblieben sind, nach dem das HMK 4 aufgelöst worden ist. Bin für Hinweise sehr dankbar.

Naja in der normal Marschmusik wenn eine Truppe hinterher marschiert wird der im Trio auch im normalen Marschtempo gespielt. Ich selber war in Veichtshöchheim und dort wurde das auch so langsam im Trio gespielt. Ist halt für die Show. Die Fremdenlegion marschiert aber komplett in diesem Tempo, für die wäre das ideal.

Der Marsch ist schön und spielen können die Herrn auch sehr sehr gut. Die Uniform gefällt mir aber nicht. Da muss ich sagen,gefiel mir die Uniform der NVA besser. Gebt mal " DDR Grosser Wachaufzug "ein.
