Consider this: Not even even shaman is NOT the deck with the lowest winrate, when I guarantee that a large percentage of people who started a game with it instantly conceded to fix their deck when Genn didn't trigger. That means that a substantial percentage of people who did not do that managed to win anyway. Basically Shaman OP.

For those who are wondering if you were to get both flame tongue in hand, would the effects take hold on your hero power, the answer is no. Hearthstone reads your deck before you draw cards and THEN changes the hero power. The animation of drawing cards comes first but interaction comes first. How did I know? Because I tried making Even Quest Paladin. Since all the buffs were even and a lot of buff synergy cards were even, and you always draw the quest, seemed pretty good. Didn't change the hero power.

@@Starcanum- Lol, I don't think you're in any position to say anyone is bad if you think the only misplays committed were the rogues first evasion and priest's scream. Right off the bat rogue completely wastes necrium on a 2/2 WHEN HE HAD BACKStAB IN HIS HAND. As for priest, the first misplay (as toast literally points out) is not healing bear from 1 health when he could easily have been punished for it. Next priest uses divine spirit on oakheart for tempo when he could (and should) have saved it for combo on mogushan enforcer. Hence toast immediately saying he's trash, lol. Next he plays northshire cleric to literally no effect, presumably just to spare himself 6 damage to face from genn when he literally has hysteria in his hand for removal and he's at full health (bad play). that you apparently didn't notice any of that indicates to me that you're not a very good player.

Quests take your starting deck into account. The cards that start in your hand were in your deck, therefore the start of the game effect won't trigger. However, an eel is a battlecry effect, therefore it would work like that.

Yea ik i just wished it worked that way in game when it was first released cuz it depends on the way u view the game cuz ur hand and deck are kinda separate and also depends on when u view the start of the game. I was just commenting about toast’s postulation about trying to mulligan both the flame tongue in his hand

@@dereklinin5367 That's why Magic the Gathering for example makes a very clear distinction between the word "deck" - the collection of cards you start with and the word "library" - the collection of cards that are left of your deck at the moment of consideration. Tbh hearthstone could do a lot if they actually hired someone to clean up and universalize their card text/syntax/formatting. I know Toast used to complain about that a lot.

Genn won't trigger even with both flametongues in hand, I know that because I tried to make even quest paladin and the quest stopped it too even in opening hand

@@Brisingrr_ I'd expect so. It also makes sense if you think about it even without testing because there are no even quest decks. If it worked I feel like even buff paladin could do well with sound the bells and spikeridge steed with the guranteed target.

Imagine if you could have as few cards as you want in a deck. You could have Genn and Baku in the deck on their own so you would never have either even or odd cards in your deck, activating both at the same time for the ultimate hero power! Unbeatable.

to be fair even shamans hero power is shit anyway. it was the deck which was strong so keep the flametongues and swap genn for a bloodlust and you have a pretty good deck.

nah Knife Juggler with 1-mana hero power is needed to deal with odd paladin recruit spam. Hero power is irrelevant against slow decks tho

It only happened because after the patch that nerfed flametongue to 3 mana the decks were not changed and people queued with them not knowing that their even synergy won't trigger.

If you copy a deck code from HSReplay then the game asks you if you want to make a deck with the code and if you choose 'yes', that happens.

Toast i discovered the most overpowered combo, but it takes some luck to pull off. after watching your last video I decided to let hearthstone make a deck for me, it made a version of dragon warrior. I did Dragon roar > emeriss > War master Voone > Zola the Gorgon. My hand life and attack doubled 3 times. this can be dangerous... hehe...
