Rhyme did something sort of similar in episode 1, stealing Sam's Boss monster for an entertaining win, and it was ruled against the rules and lost that game (not the episode) because of that rule. And if mandatory is the issue then drawing is mandatory. How can you deck yourself out and still count that as a win? That was the rule last episode. If you deck out and the opponents boss monster is not on the field you win... a self deckout to win. Sam even uses that as a strategy purposefully trying to deck himself out to count it as a win.

I think Sam lost the 3rd duel, he made the choice to take Simorgh knowing it does burn damage, he also then lowered Rhyme’s LP to a point where it would be fatal, win con requires your own boss monster to hit the field, Sam did not do that.

This is what frustrates me about Sam. He always cheats his way to victories, so that he can feel superior. Even if it means breaking his own rules to do it. Using rhme's card to burn him should be considered a loss to sam, he did not have his boss monster on the field. The monster was on sam's field, it is no different from attacking rhyme with any other monster. Wjth this being said rhyme should have won the duel, one by life points and one by technicalit.y

Sadly you're wrong. Rhyme is still the owner of the card, that's why if you Kaiju something and then use Owner's seal, the card goes back to your hand and not your opponent's.

I don’t think a mandatory burn is fair in this situation and I agree with bean it’s still rhymes card and rhyme lost to his own effect if I burn my opponent using skull invitation and it kills me cause of having it out and my opponent used it to their advantage that is on me alone nothing in the rules additionally said if a card was taken control of that it would default into a loss from mandatory effects that the user has no choice in the simurgh situation was clearly not planned around before the duel if anything that duel should be a DRAW

It's funny how Sam doesn't even know the rules to his own series. In the last episode, the rule was that if you lose in any way, even deck out, while the opponents boss monster is not on the field, it's a loss for the opponent. So technically speaking, if Rhyme gets killed by his own boss monster without Sam's Boss monster on the field, it should be a loss for Sam. Sam needs to keep making up new rules or change rules to win.

If your own card causes you to reach 0 life points, you lose. The bird was owned by Rhymestyle, but it was in Sam's control. Ownership of the card doesn't change, just control. So Rhyme lost to his own card.

Sam didn’t get his boss monster out. In order to win his boss monster needs to be out, the burn from rhymes own monster shouldn’t count. I’d understand if Sam’s monster came out and somehow got sent to the GY but it didn’t come out at all so in all fairness this new rule should be placed: “a duelist can win using the opponent’s boss monster if their own previously was summoned successfully”
