the mmms and ooos section of Lux Brumalis (at/around 46-47 minutes in this recording) is one of my fave moments of this year’s concert.

I cried after listening to Lux Brumalis. I have little Luke/Lucs in my family and they were asked to listen to all the times Lukes broom all leafs. The trick answer to the question, how many leaves do Lukes broom? Is….ALL leafs.

Fun fact: The librettist for Victor Herbert's operetta "Babes in Toyland" in which "Toyland" (1:09:45 mark) is featured, has a tie to this area. Glen MacDonough's mother was actress and playwright Laura Don. She was born in Glens Falls, NY nee Anna Laura Fish in 1852. She died of tuberculosis in 1886 and is buried in Greenwich, NY in Greenwich Cemetery.
