Such a great hike. I would always take my friends that were new to backpacking here and they loved it and got the backpacking bug. Haven't done this one in ages and I'm thinking I need to get out there again. Such a great place close to 2sun. Looks like you guys had a great time.

My wife ex-wife grew up in Klondike care is owner. I spent a lot of time in Arizona in the 80s and 90s. What a wonderful place.

Is this hike round trip or one way and you park a second car at a separate lot?

This was an in-and-out for us. You can park on either end of Aravaipa canyon to hike the entire canyon. The drive time between the two parking lots is over 2 hours

Can you share info about your footwear for this trip? What exactly did you wear for walking in the water? I heard you mention neoprene booties, but what in addition to that?
@NorthernTrailsOutdoors
@NorthernTrailsOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yes! We used neoprene booties and teva sandals for this trip. We did bring with hiking boots that we wore around camp and exploring dry bits of the canyon. This worked out well and if we were to do this trip again I would elect to use this same set up. We saw one other group on our trip, they were using old hiking boots they got wet. You are in the stream for a majority of this trail and it is spring fed throughout the year so the water is chilly year round.

@@NorthernTrailsOutdoors Did you have any trouble with gravel and rocks getting in between your neoprene booties and tevas? We have neoprene socks and are debating whether to wear them with tevas or old shoes.

@@juliedo5243 not too much of a problem for us, which was good. At times getting into and out of the river we got some gravel stuck in between our socks and sandals but nothing a quick shake didn’t fix!

We wish! There were some small native species of chub in the river.

Thanks for the video. Great job. Would you recommend a hammock?

Yes you can absolutely hammock this. There are lots of good informal campsites near the river with sturdy trees.
