A good morning routine helps me set the tone of my day and helps prepare me for the challenges that come with winter camping and living the van life in winter.

My a.m. routine is enforced by my pets, two cats and a dog who beat on my door...at 04:30 hours. Some time while feeding the cats and dog, letting the dog out I manage to flip the switch on the coffee maker. My wife, however, sleeps until noon or so...what a luxury! I've been an early riser since I was a military brat and then serving 23 years myself. I love rising before the sun then enjoy a cup of coffee and watch while it rises. When I'm able to camp out the routine is much more spectacular.

So spot on about the power of facing challenges with good and dependable friends. Our morning routine when camping is to Jetboil and French press coffee while still in bed. We get our lazy morning and then get supercharged for the day.

It’s obviously this was a quality camping trip with great people. Daisy seems to be doing well. My morning routine, regardless of whether I’m at home, in a hotel or in camp, is I brush my teeth and drink at least 16 onzes of water and then have a strong cup of black coffee. Here’s to Megan’s health. 🍻

My heeler Cosmo is 12 now and half blind. I pick him up every a.m. as we go for coffee at 4:30 a.m. daily. Cattle dogs rule. He hangs with my sister's 3 goldens. 😊

I love the winter camping, and I love the snow. Traveling in snow is great! I grew up in "snow country", but I now reside in OKlahoma. My area has had only (2) snowfalls of (4) inches each so far this winter!

My morning routine...get up, fix some coffee...look to see if there is a new Primal Outdoors video, or a Softroadingthewest video, or maybe a Slim Potatoehead Video to watch before I make breakfast and head off to work. Soon... later this year... I'll be able to camp full time... make coffee outdoors...... and not have to go to work...it's called retirement and I can't freakin" wait!

Glad you got the seat fixed. I put them in my 2008 with stock seats and it took me a few months before I even touched them. I was worried the bolts would be insanely tight. Once I started it, Finished in about 2 hrs. Worst thing was having to cut the carpet out from under the base to mount them to steel. Looks like a good time, interior of the van is coming along well. I love the awning and have been considering a 270 degree awning for mine. Just hate having anything in the wind to hurt fuel mileage. Especially with a fabric cover to flap. 3000 mile trips with bad fuel mileage stink.

Two of my favorite overlanding channels, I have been building my Ram with my 3 pups in mind, tossed away the RTT option for old school canvas hot tent. Added a soft-topper if we need to cram in the bed for an overnight stay. That farmer’s wheel works wonders.
