Great vid Andy, we take the freezer compartment out as it stops strain on the springs leaving it wedged open, we also stack all the seat cushions in the centre of the van. Thanks for sharing 👍

We leave blinds up but shut curtains, saves putting stress on the blind spring mechanism, we also pull all cushions away from walls & stand them up to allow for airflow 👍

Useful vid Andy agree with the other comments about leaving roller blinds closed. We were told by dealer pleated blinds are ok to part close but make sure you leave a gap for the heat to escape so that the windows don’t warp.

Hi we leave the blinds up but curtains closed. We took all bedding home. It is in bags in loft , will air off before next using as can take a while to warm up when been in the van. Thanks for sharing P&J

Hay I was always told to pull the curtains and not using the blinds as weakens the springs and cheaper to replace the curtains don't know what you think " I've recently sold my caravan and brought a campervan as it's a lot cheaper getting of the isle of Wight but I do miss the space the caravan gave kind regards Paul

Yep, you're right. Yes a caravan does offer more space but I think the important thing is that the vehicle should fit your lifestyle and budget, if a campervan means you can get out more, then that's a good a reason as I would need to change! Great video Andy, another thing to try to do if possible is to slightly rotate the tyres by either moving the caravan forward or backwards slightly so it isn't constantly resting on the same part of the side wall for the months it is stored and causing mishaping of the tyre

Great one Andy! If you don’t have an alarm I would leave your battery out in your warm garage and charge every 4 days etc... we are fortunate to have ours plugged into the house. A quick tip try using fenwicks over wintering solution it keeps it clean and looking fresh although our new van is being paint sealed! Anyway hope your all doing fine? Cheers Oliver

I had my caravan before the camper so I was watching your for a long time before I changed to the camper I'm going to see what the sea on is like using it and may go back to a caravan next year and be back to leaving the iland as stupid o'clock

Our Van is an older van which we intend to keep for quite a long time so we fitted a solar panel to the roof so battery is always topped up. We always go to our van every fortnight through the winter & have several dehumidifiers dotted around the caravan which we change every six to eight weeks if needed

Solar panels are the best. I really love the fact our new Caravan has one, we're planning on doing our first off grid experience some time soon. Happy Caravanning. Andy

Hi Andy useful tips when leaving van in storage over winter it would also be useful to buy some battery conectors that click on and off so easy to remove battery when needed I'd take it off over the winter and keep it at home if u don't have a solar panel or alarm cheers kev

Hi Andy, great Video, when you put your battery back in, spray the rubber seal on the hatch with a little silicone spray, to stop it sticking and deteriorating 👍

Reason some people leave their blinds open is because in your blinds there will be a spring, if you close the blinds for a period of time these can end up stretching the springs which means they won’t retract properly when opening, they suggest that you close the curtains instead 👍

Hi Andy. Personally I wouldn’t remove the battery whilst wearing a ring. My friend took his car battery out many years ago and got a bad shock and burnt his hand. Just a thought. Steve.

Haha, cheers Colin. To be honest, having forgotten to take my spanners, my pump grips were the next best thing. Luckily it worked as next up would have been my 'vice - like' grip strength adjustable! 😂. Andy

you should not have the roller blinds down that long, it can stretch the springs and cause poor functioning

Leaving it in the dark causes mold growth it thrives in dark damp conditions. I leave my blinds open.
