Thanks for the video, I was too busy to enjoy WFD this year so this was my fix. BTW...I have activated Watts Towers Park a few years ago. I was working a weekend day (in the field) by myself and did a lunchtime activation there. There was just a little bit of grass to set up next to the curb and get-r-done. Not as noisy as I would have guessed with my MPAS 2.0

Josh, that's not WFD! No snow!!! I was with K3QBD in the snow. We did have a yurt in a state park and a huge fire outside to keep warm. Still had lots of fun.

My club made contacts with TRW on a few bands. The guy operating on 2 meter was a trooper. Very active on calls.

That's awesome... Thanks for the contact! I was running the 2m/70cm station 👍

You guys seemed warmer outside, than we were inside in the Chicago area. :D

I was going to say that winter field day there looks like summer field day in Maine. 😊

That's impressive to bring a flex radio out to field day.

The guy at the beginning in the yellow t-shirt was an excellent communicator. I'm studying for my foundation licence here in Australia, and showing this field day has taken a LOT of anxiety I have had about engaging in events like this.

Thanks for the video, just curious on what your setup is for live streaming, I've been trying to get my DJI Pocket 3 to work for live streaming.

Loved the content. This would have been my first field day, but the club could not get enough people interested. My be a sign of an aging ham environment.

Get started in POTA. It's like a mini Field Day every day.

@@HamRadioCrashCourse Planning to do POTA, but I need to get a little more portable equipment and less snow.

I managed to get out for about 3 hours in the afternoon. I got to say trying to be heard while your qrp is a pain in the butt during an event like this. Still, managed to get at least one SSB on 10 through 40

I was on for 3.5 hours and live streaming as well. Stuck on the Tech level for now so not much to draw from. The band was up and down all day for me here in NV.

My winter field day was a bust. Nothing on UHF/VHF or 10m from Easter Oklahoma.

The vhf/uhf bands are difficult in the city on field days, I can only imagine for more rural areas. I am surprised 10 meters was not open Saturday. In north Texas I made a voice contact to South Africa and had many 10 m contacts Saturday afternoon.

Kitty was napping in the sun at home - she’ll be out again once the air is clean and the local forests aren’t on fire. 🐈
