Winter Fishing! Stopped by DFG at Alameda Rock Wall!

Today we are at Alameda Rockwall fishing for perch, using shrimp and light tackle

When I was a child I would sneak on to the Wall when it was still Navy property. I have some stories for you. the MP's knew me by name LOL. I still live in the same house I grew up in. As soon as my wife gets will enough to be lift alone for a while we can hook up on the Wall and I will regale you with my salty tales of daring do. Tight lines youngens. Stay safe.

@@MrSpiller1 OK. Once upon a time. ( Not a fairy tale, I promise). I tend to fish at night do to my light sensitivity issues. I didn't need to use lights at night when I fished back then. I was heading home off the Wall with a stringer loaded with Black Surf Perch. Enough for a week of fish dinners. As I was getting my gear re-attached to my bike. Think Porcupine and you get the picture of what I looked like when riding my bike for a fishing trip. I heard the sound of tires slowly coming my way. Then the lights come on and a loud and grumpy voice tells me to put my hands up. He came around through the hole in the fence and called me by name. So there went the I didn't know defense. I was nine at this time. Long lecture, so I thought. He brought me to his jeep and introduced me to his partner. They put in the Jeep and took me to the furthest gate from the wall and dropped me off. That is a 2 mile walk to get back to my bike. They were there at the bike having a snack and of course a good chuckle. They made sure no one was going to take my stuff. So I wasn't to grumpy with them. They new I was helping my Mom keep food on the table. Tight lines and stay safe.

Incoming tide, only fished high tide for about an hour

​@Bank.Fishing I think he means a High Low rig should have 2 hooks on the line. One high, one low with the weight on the bottom vs one hook which is more like a drop shot. But really, who cares. I'm waiting on clear weather also to fish with my kid. You make some great content. Keep it up.
