Fished the S fork of the Boise below Anderson Ranch for the first time in 1989. For about the next 10 years if you could get there at dawn on a weekday you could fish long stretches of the river and never see another angler. After about 2000 I started to visit much less frequently and not because the quality of the fishing changed as much as how much more crowded it became. Not sure how much time you've invested in fishing the river above Anderson near Featherville but recommend giving it a try late summer early fall. Not going to catch anything the size of what you were catching in this video but the area near Baumgartner can be special in its own unique way. If you're lucky you might catch a bull trout or two up there.

Hard to beat the SF drainage. Between the diverse reservoirs to the amazing river both freestone and tailwater. Love living an hour from the dam.
