For a 2600 game, this looks absolutely stunning

It has its limits, but if all games came out with 16K ROMs in 1982, maybe the Crash wouldn't have happened. Although Pac-Man and Donkey Kong were deliberately released on 4K instead of 8K to save money, knowing everyone would buy them based on just the name. Of course I don't really count games that came out after 1984 for the 2600. It would be like if someone released games in the year 2000, like homebrew. And no nostalgia for games I didn't know about or play. I did play Winter Games on a different system, but I don't remember which, PC or Playstation?

Most of the end-of-life VCS games had much better graphics than the early games... see Kung Fu Master for an example of what the system was capable of.

I have the 7800 version (and have seen the NES version in action (coughAVGNcough), but I have to say that the 2600 version looks like it would be more fun than either of those.

I prefer the 7800 version, but I would put it over the NES version.

The damp cool basement has been my home for my entire adult life. I peer through my tiny ground level window at the normal people outside like Quasimodo gazing at Esmeralda's bouncing booty. Mom doesn't like it when I miss supper. We are having beef stew this evening.

Originally the Atari had a planned 8 bit chip set 6502 but Atari wouldn't pay $25 so the 6507 microprocessor (a cost-reduced version of the 6502) was 12 dollars and Cyan and MOS sold the 6507 chip set at $12 to Atari. What history could have been if Atari had originally had the 8 bit chip set when released...

Epyx games were a good time. I played them mostly on the Commodore though. This one looks decent for the Atari 2600.

The bobsled and luge on this are incredibly smooth and fun. I prefer them to the 7800 versions of those events.

Dude; I am amazed how better this is compared to the NES version, these are ACTUALLY games, like you can play them & have somewhat fun, ANYTHING, anything at all. The NES just got a 2600 whoopin’ ! Great work Atari because I Louth the NES version of winter games!

I played a different version. Maybe Playstation or PC? I remember playing Summer Games after and not being as impressed. Also, there were some events that were really tough. There might have been a decathlon-style event where you compete in all events. But it's been so long and I don't remember.
