Winter Gardening: Secrets to a Thriving January Garden

This is the first gardening Vlog of 2025. At the end of the year, I pruned my Crape Myrtle. It's a large tree that's 50 years old, so I thought about disposing of it every year, but I never got around to it, so this time, for the first time, I was able to reuse the pruned branches ♻️
It's been more than a year since I faced my garden head-on, and I'm finally enjoying the way it's meant to be enjoyed.
The branches of the Crape Myrtle are smooth, flexible and easy to bend, and some of them are over 2m long. I thought it would be nice to use them as another garden arch to attract my favorite Pink Jasmine😆
It feels like another app has been added to my handmade garden, which is full of rustic charm🥰
I would like to increase the number of them little by little each year to make them thicker🤎
The Brocante and viola in the frame make an even more pleasant sound𓉸
To update the entrance flower bed, I pulled out the annuals and planted about 15 remaining tulip bulbs, then planted violas, primulas, iberis, etc. During the winter, even a single flower blooming is enough to make the winter peaceful, but
Finally, the hydrangea leaves have fallen in Chiba Prefecture, so there is a lot of work to do, such as maintenance and soil improvement in the vacant spaces, cleaning in the winter, and pruning deciduous trees.
I will also prune the climbing iceberg this January✂️
And for the first time, I repotted the Ranunculus Lax Ariadne.
I should have done it when the buds came out, but it ended up getting all bushy😂🌿
But it has a lot of white roots and is a healthy plant, so I don't think it's a problem to repot it during the growing season.
I hope that many flowers will bloom on the pergola this year🌸
