I am an early riser, but that is my body rhythm. It's sad when moms hold themselves to other people's standards. A slow morning works for you. You get the important things done and it's awesome for your family.

That's the thing, you stay late. So you do what you need to before you go to bed. I get up early, way too early, sometimes before 5, but we all go to bed at 8:30. And I'm not ashamed that the first thing I do in the morning, is to drink my 2 espressos in peace before the crazy starts 😂.

I really appreciate you touching on mom guilt for not waking up early. When you talked about the warm cuddles and not wishing them away… 🥰 I needed that! I have NEVER been a morning person. I actually love waking up an hr or so before the household. I get a nice walk to wake me up, cats fed, open the kitchen & start breakfast before our toddler wakes up. However, that just is not our reality most days. Most days I wake up before everyone else, but decide to cuddle in bed & wait for our daughter to wake up. I feel better about enjoying this season now. ❤️

I really prefer to call resolutions, "intentions". Most of us are doing our best and constantly in some sort of progression while working everyday for best health and self preservation. Why create more busyness, more car time, more office time, and less time with our people, with goals that are not sustainable and that we don't have extra time for anyway? I just can't easily relate to people who make more work for themselves when they are already doing enough, and living a healthy and happy life. Yes, there's always room for self improvement, but isn't that what most of are doing just by waking up, taking care of ourselves and our people?

As a mom of 3 grown kids, my oldest was an early riser. I showed him how to make instant oatmeal and hot chocolate if he was hungry with electric tea kettle and what number the tv noise could be on. My 2 girls were sleepers. Come time for school and the easier one to get up, ready and out the door was the one used to it. My girls and I....running late😂

I am a WFH mom. One of my intentions this year is to create a routine and home lifestyle that brings me joy, courage, and endurance - especially when life and work get tough. I am struggling to get a sense of what this looks like, though. My (and my family's) needs change depending on the season we are in, sometimes getting up earlier than my husband and son gives me that head start that I need, sometimes I want to snuggle a bit longer. How do I create routine when things change at times?

about putting hot things in the fridge... the fridge doesn't work all the time, it keeps turning on and off to keep the temperature constant. if you put a hot thing inside it will have to turn on to bring the temperature down so it consume more energy. also, babies don't need teeth to eat solids. my daughter only got teeth at 13 months, but by WHO guidelines babies at 12 months must be eating the same as the rest of the family (for the most part). it's very important for them to learn to mastigate right from the start of food introduction.

Uuhh yeahh baby food. I knew it isn't hard to make at all, just need of course a little time. I couldn't justify how expensive it is. I gave it a try with my first, and made it for all my kids. The only time I bought baby food was when traveling.

Putting things in the fridge hot makes the fridge work very hard and (according to my husband) wastes electricity and isn't good for the items already in the fridge. I do it sometimes, but at this time of year, I take advantage of the cold, and put soups and broths on my porch to cool.

It’s said that if you put hot food in the fridge, that it can lower the temperature in your fridge therefore lowering the temperature of the rest of the food in your fridge. also, I don’t let my food cool all the way down before putting it in my fridge due to the bacteria that can potentially grow when in the temperatures danger zone (40 -140 degrees). Bacteria can double up in as little as 20 minutes and they can be dangerous for children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

All this talk of "chemicals" in your food is just sad. Everything in this world is made of chemicals, things are not always bad just because you don't understand them. You really fell for the talk of those who want to keep you in fear so they can sell you their overpriced products that are, 9 times out of 10, the same as anything else on the shelf. Please stop spreading this nonsense
@ash32458Күн бұрын
Absolutely not true. Yeah, marketing gimmicks exist, but consumers need to know HOW to analyze the products that they are buying. Just because an item is marketed as “healthy,” it doesn’t mean that it is. Of course ingredients matter. Simplified ingredients are always best. She is not spreading any nonsense at all…Have you ever picked up an item at the store and read the amount of ingredients?
@noellecaseyКүн бұрын
I couldn’t have wrote it any better. Thank you! 😊

@@ash32458 When people say "chemicals" it's a red flag, they don't know what they are talking about. "If you can't pronounce it it's not good for you" is pure bs. What do you know about chrologenic acid? What about isoamyl acetate? Probably nothing, and reading the names would scare you into not buying something because it's not "simplified", but both are present in good old apples and bananas. Regular people don't know how to read and interpret real research and go on listening to anyone who says things that sound like they could be true, you comment just proves my point.
@maryjohnstone1051Күн бұрын
I, for one, am ok with not knowing everything. And I’m ok with assuming my body knows how to break down Whole Foods better than anything else. So… I’m ok with organic apples whole or as an ingredient, rather than chlorogenic acid taken from apples and used as an ingredient in … meatless sausages or anything else it might be used in.
