I imagine the 1st wind in the village would have been pretty rough, but the dugout is surrounded by very tall trees, for hundreds of feet all around. The wind there would have been considerably less. Glad that both your house (love it, such a nice place to be living) and the dugout got through without problems. But the second wind storm did a lot more, dropping trees in the clearing. It'll soon be snowing, will you have the dugout buried by then? Still a lot of earth to be moved back into place. Using the chainsaw between the roof timbers makes for a really nice joint. Very effective. I have been enjoying your skills with the chainsaw and wood since the beginning when you started on the cabin. Great skill shown all the time. Cutting along a string like that, I'd be breaking it all the time. Even Mother Nature likes the way you do things, she even drops material almost on your doorstep for you. 😀

I have a suggestion for a video series. Find a place to put a small hydro station and damn a stream for power. The use the power to run everything including lights for the house. You could make the planks using a small electric sawmill and set up an electric conveyor to allow you to move the planks from the output of the sawmill quickly to the building site. Battery-powered hand tools could allow some amazing things.

Die Arbeit von euch ist sehr gut, da sind viele alte Techniken zu sehen, ich mag das außerordlich😊 Ihr seid aber auch in einer fast unberührten Natur unterwegs und habt viele Hilfsmittel. Baumarkt und Lidl scheint ja nicht weit zu sein😂 Ich verstehe nur nicht, warum ihr das Haus in die Erde hineinbuddelt, wo es in dieser Region zwangslaüfig absäuft. Auf Stelzen wäre es deutlich sicherer. Der Aufwand kann kaum größer sein. Oder bei der Buddeltechnik wenigstens für eine vernünftige Drainage sorgen, wenn man schon mal beim Buddeln ist. ps. Buddeln = Graben😊❤

This is a great video! I always appreciate how long your videos are, the longer the better! It was great getting to see Hugo play with Perry, and there's nothing wrong with his behavior it's perfectly natural. I have a question hopefully someone can answer, who does the land you're building on belong to? In America we can't just build like that unless we own the land. I see so many people in Russia just go out into the woods and start building and I always wonder who owns the land?

If you put 2 verticle handles on the piece of trunk you are using for compacting the ground it would allow you to do the job easier and hit the ground harder making the compacting more stronger.
