So you have to resist the urge, because when you have hundreds of comments, it adds up and you end up spoiling things for the watcher.

Yeah I'm surprised over how much this legend understands. When I first watched it, I didn't understand anything. I never learnt the names properly, never understood what was going on, why it was going on, never understood anyones relations etc etc. Now I'm reading the books instead, and now I'm getting all of these things, as it constantly gets mentioned, and it's described well.

I've seen so many reactors who have a hard time remembering who everybody is and what's going on in this show but they still love it even if they don't know what's going on lol. It seems you will be able to follow along great because you actually listen to dialog and names. It's my favorite show and I'm looking forward to seeing you go on this journey. If you really want to get into the lore there are videos you can watch at the end of every season that fills you in without spoiling anything but that's up to you. Oh and the books are great too and takes a different direction but sadly GRRM hasn't finished the series yet

My favorite fact from episode 1 is about the kid on the tree. Many people (including myself) believed her to be a doll, and not a very realistic one at that. Turns out, she's completely real, AND was in her 20s when this was filmed 😂

Without spoilers, a note on Jon Snow's name: When a bastard is born, they can't take the last name of either of their parents. They're given a last name that identifies them as bastards. Each region gives a different name to show where they're from. In the North, they get given the name, "Snow" for example. There's also Sand, Rivers, Storm, Hill, Stone, Flowers, Pyke, and Waters.

Yes! I love how excited you are! The first episode sets the tone for the whole show. There are so many things to appreciate about GoT but one of my favorite things is that the story keeps surprising you. You start following the plot lines and think you know where it's going only to find out that you know nothing. I had read the books before the show came out so I loved watching this with friends to see their reactions. Now I'm looking forward to experiencing this with you!

I’d love you to see your reaction to some of the lore videos they’ve released of the the history and backstory of everything that happened before the events of the show. They’re narrated by different members of the cast as their character telling stories. Such a rich and deep world. One of the best intro music scores out there too, with the map of the visited locations.

I watched this first episode more than 2 years after it first came out with my daughter who lived far away and had bought the video. The opening prologue had me saying to her, "yeah, nah, nah, absolutely not interested in another zombie type series." She convinced me to finish just watching this first episode. Edit: At the time we were both playing Skyrim and she said I would recognise place names, (slightly altered) forges, magic weapons etc. I had never heard of GRRM, but as soon as I returned home after watching this 1st season, I bought the books and to this day I keep re-reading!

Loved the reaction! You're very attentive/perceptive, you picked up just about everything there was! At the start lots of people struggle to keep up, like "Who's this? Who's that again? Who was that couple at the end?" About what you talked about (people unsatisfied with the ending), well the thing is as you may know, the book series is not finished yet - and may never be. While the author gave the showrunners all his key plot points, they had to fill in the gap for the rest... And let's just say, it wasn't always stellar. The adaptation of the material they had IS stellar though, which helped the show get this popular (that, and the great story!)
