It’s my favorite when they take you for a ride! I threw a bait off in front of a brushpile while holding my kyak in place with a little motor I put on it, got bit by a 20 and oh man did it get nuts. Boat plus fish control with two hands when you need like 4! Lot of fun!

Big catfish are good. I always listened to everybody saying big ones are nasty and taste like mud but I’ve found if you take off the red meat near the skin and brine them in water and a whole small container of old bay seasoning for 24 hours, then beer batter and fry they are Really good.

No doubt man, especially the flatheads. I let the big ones go mainly because there aren't as many, and it takes a long time for them to grow. The way I look at it, everyone I keep makes catching the next big one a little harder. That's just my thoughts though.

Wing dams are an interesting concept, coming from the SE I never knew they existed until I started watching your vids. I don't know if they were more for keeping good flow in the main channel or made for barges and steamers to anchor up back in the olden days out of the current. Or a little of both maybe.

They're for pushing current to the main channel, and keeping consistent depth there. Barges kinda seem to anchor where ever the hell they want haha

Have you ever been on a kayak/boat and snagged a fish and followed the line and see if you could get the fish un-snagged? But bro! That's a big boy right there! Watching your head turn as you looked up and down it before you showed it to the camera was such a huge tease! If you gotta turn your head to see the entire fish, you know it's gonna be a big'n! I watch a lot of people who fish for catfish in kayaks and they have length boards on their kayaks so they can measure their length. You should make one or buy one that way you dont have to worry about getting out and buy a micro anchor pole that would help. Nice catfish!

Amazing cat! Tested out that line snapping technique for getting unsnagged on the kaskaskia river in Carlyle illinois. It worked great! Thanks for sharing. The place I work at sells a Roto grip by yak attack for holding your paddle. It goes in your gear track so not sure if that would use up a whole side of your kayak? not sure but the boss would most likely send you one for free for a shout out to our website
