A suggestion, next time you’re cutting that hedge if you put a tarp, or an old blanket down on the gravel as you’re cutting the hedge cuttings will all fall onto that then you just pick it up at the end when you finished and put it wherever no mess on the gravel then . Although that beautiful old screen on the higher-level looked very nice I think when you took it down it did actually look a lot better without it. 😊 nice video guys I’m glad you’re settling in and getting things how you want.❤

Hi Johnny, Adam and Benji, just came across your site and it’s brilliant, got a lot of catching up to do on previous episodes which we are excited about. Love your story and the way you approach the videos, brilliant styling and photography. My husband and me used to live in an old country cottage in Suffolk ( we still live in Suffolk but by the coast now) and had our fair share of problems but it was so worth it. Living in a character cottage offers a charm you just can’t get in modern properties. Looking forward to many more future episodes, take care and good luck with the renovations. P.S will be looking over your website later too. All the best, Ken, Lee and Hamish ( the border terrier).

Next time, put a sheet/tarp under the hedge to catch the trimmings....easier cleanup. It's got to be so satisfying to get the garden spruced up this first time😊. Wee tip for cutting the hedges especially over gravel - put down a strip of tarpaulin under the hedge before you cut it. then pull it along the hedge with you as you cut. the clippings land on the tarpaulin and then THAT can be lifted [ carefully] and tipped into the bags/bins for removal - result is a [fairly] clean area under the hedges and no hand clearing afterwards!! [ My dad taught me this tip back in the 1960's - long before leaf blowers were invented!]

Just a thought. As you are thinking of extending the floor were your steps are , how about adding storage at the same time,
@AdamofCA.
@AdamofCA. 2 ай бұрын
Yes. Serious considerations have appeared in earlier posts. Time should also be given to the idea of establishing 3 bins beneath the extended floor. Three lift tops offer immediate access to lots of storage space. My round, 2-foot tall vacuum would fit nicely in bin # 3.

Thanks for this new great video. You two make a very good team... but it would not be the same without Benji. That dog seems to be so happy in the country, having a lot of space to play and enjoy the fresh air. My bulldog Rupert lives in the city center ; he likes going to the big park, not very far, but he really prefers to stay close to the house and wait for his fans to come and see him. I am sure he would like to meet Benji, and you two because you love dogs.

So enjoy seeing what you are both working on and your ideas. About t the hedge clipping and all the mess. I finally tried out what the gardener in our complex does and it worked great. I bought a drop sheet for $1aud from the local op shop and put it along he hedge in my own garden. All the clippings fell on it and then I bundled the sheet up and straight to the compost skip. Like magic! Should have tried it years ago. I do hope the creepy mannequin doesn't take a seat in the bedroom Victorian chair. Her praying mantis head is especially creepy, her arms look like a droid from Starwars.

A busy week for you two! Great that it’s so mild for the time of year, and the garden is looking fantastic. Oil - we get a delivery once a month in winter. Our village has an arrangement with a company so we put in a big order and pay less as a result. It may be worth your village doing something like that if there is enough interest. You need to go to the pub and find out 😂 Try not to get too low on oil in winter because they may not be able to get to you in snow ⛄️and of course everyone wants oil in winter!

Thanks for clearing that up, Phyllis! 😊 Adam thought it might be part of Coca-Cola, but it’s good to know it’s actually part of the Pepsi group in Canada. Always learning something new-appreciate the insight! 🥤🌍

A lovely glimpse into your life. Seeing you trimming the hedge brought back memories as I used to have a tall one in front of my townhouse. It really helps if you put down a tarp when you start trimming, and then all the trimmings fall onto the tarp and you don’t have to use a blower to get rid of the debris.

Thank you so much, Janet! 😊 That’s such a great tip with the tarp-wish we’d thought of it before tackling that hedge! 🌳 Next time, we’ll definitely give it a try to save some cleanup time. Glad we could bring back some fond memories for you! 🏡✨ Thanks again for watching and for being part of our journey! 👋

Adam better watch out…your neighbors might want to start hiring him out for their odd jobs as well! Hmmm…another income stream? (Just kidding!) Knowing now how easy that railing and stair arrangement moved certainly opens up some design choices. I’m curious to see what you end up doing there. Cheers, and ATB!

Haha, you might be onto something there! 😄 Adam might just become the go-to handyman for the village-another income stream might not be a bad idea! 😂 And you’re right, seeing how easily the railing and stairs moved definitely gives us more design options. We’re excited to figure it all out-stay tuned! Cheers and all the best to you too! 🏡✨
