Winter Pruning of Kiwis

Directions
1) Remove the last season’s fruiting canes. Choose to keep 18 -20 new canes, as close to the leader as it is possible.
2) The optimal bud number is 15 - 25 per cane. This determines the number and size of the fruits.
Target
1) The production of high quality fruits,
2) The improvement of the airflow and lighting of the orchard and
3) The maintenance of healthy and productive trees.
