Let's get ready for some winter snowshoeing at Artist Point! The winter season is almost ending so check out one of the best spots to go snow shoeing in the state of Washington!
Artist Point is located in Mt Baker area and takes about 2.5 - 3 hours to drive from Seattle. No parking pass will be needed when parking in the lot, but one caveat is that the parking lot is shared by the skiers and snowboarders of Mt Baker.

Winter hiking / snowshoeing at Artist Point can be moderately challenging. The path itself is straightforward, but expect to be making some moderate climbs up the hill. The average hiker / snowshoer should take ~2 hours to get to the main lookout point at Artist Point.

I would HIGHLY recommend coming later in the day ~1pm. If you arrive later in the day, you wont have to worry too much about finding a parking spot as many people have already left.
BUT, the other reason to come later in the day is to stay for the sunsets. The sunsets up here at Artist Point are simply GORGEOUS. You'll get a pristine beautiful lavender blue sky that's simply breath taking.

Equipment Needed/ Recommended:
- Pair of snow shoes. The snow here is pretty deep so I highly recommend some decent pair of snowshows. Microspikes are doable, but you will likely be sinking with each step
- Pair of hiking poles. Makes ascending the mountain much easier
