FYI it is complete value to solo-ult with this hero because of the whole reset thing, and solo ulting a destructible like a Loki clone gives it back as well. If you can’t find a good opening once you’ve already ulted, going for a random destructible can give you a shot at redemption.

You can use your hook and punch to reposition tankier enemies into your team. Just turn around at the right moment during your hook (feels natural if you played some roadhog) and then punch them back into your team. Great to use against tanks, not really needed against squishier enemies as Necros showed. :D

You didn't mention one thing, but it's crucial: Your hook also grabs enemies behind your target

it is extremely effective to use bucky like a DPS roadhog and trap tanks. if you hook a tank in and turn 90 degrees you can then walk in front of them and kick them into your team to absolutely melt them. i suggest throwing your ball thingie at the end of your kick so that theyre slowed and cant get out easily as well

his hook can also grab multiple people, too! nothin beats grabbing a hulk and thor on accident... and as mentioned from another user, you can def get a reset on loki's clone, but i also noticed that something made the culling status disappear when i went for the play. not 100% sure why it disappeared, either. also keep in mind that his ult reset lasts for 8 seconds, so it can pay off taking your time. once i started slowing down my ult resets i was able to start getting 4-5 kills more frequently. Lastly, mind your head/doors when ulting. doing it in rooms can often lead to a whiffed ult since you bonk your noggin.

I think they should make Thanos a support, it would force people more to play supports and his infinity gauntlet serves that perectly since he can return enemies back in time where they were moments ago, then healing obviously, changing reality. He would be a great support a bit more tanky. Ulti could be getting up his double blade

support is way more played than tank, from my 27ish hours on ranked. most people go 1-3-2 or 1-2-3 and sometimes 2-2-2. I almost never have to fill on strategist, it's mostly tank.

Something these videos could benefit from is actually damage numbers to set your expectations. For example, I had no idea how strong Magiks rush attack (r1 on console) was. Also useful for the ultimates as i see people expecting some to just be instant kills.

Yeah, idk about hooking squishier targets when first engaging in a fight, most have escape abilites/answers to immediately retreat from it. Tanks are better to hook because not only is it so much easier to land with their bigger hitbox, but most don't have immediate answers of surviving it right after you pull them in, which is almost always a guaranteed kill on them if you angle yourself to pull tanks into your entire team. I'm consistently dehulking Banners and shredding them into oblivion to where they can't even play the game, so I'd argue that Buckey EXCELS as a tank buster dps and you should absolutely hook vanguards/tanks very often.

You can animation cancel the basic melee with troopers fist, can be useful for an extra bit of damage in comboes

I found out that while you are hooking someone you can still slightly move. So you can hook a tank for instance from their front line and walk around so that you are behind them when the hook animation stops and then you punch them into your team for the kill. Its actually very useful and you can do the same thing when grabbing people from an off angle/flank and pull them in and then punch them around a corner and away from their team where you are safe to get the kill.

Also his E is very good, it can be use to chip down enemy front with 3 shot E 3 shot combo without using hook or getting close. It can also be used to snipe the backline that's on low health since it has greater hitbox and exploding radius which mean you can just aim around them and let the aoe taking care the rest. I did use this to snipe people trying to run away on low health quite often. I don't think the E have a maximum travel range, correct me if I'm wrong.

4:52 Another Tip that works with Combo 1 is doing the combo as normal, but after you fire your gun, you can flick your camera and then use Trooper’s Fist to reposition your enemy into places where your team can KO them. Or even just knock them off of a ledge!

Remember that the best order to ‘empty the clip’ so to speak is to shoot 3x orb shoot 3x grapple shoot 3x punch shoot 3x. You get 12 shots all abilities so if your getting dived by a venom alone or just with a healer your best chance is this string as far as damage. But if it’s rockets team up just shoot or if you have like Luna snow communicate to pair your stun abilities
