Winter Storm Hits the Homestead

I know how hard having a wood burning fireplace can be. I could watch a fire for hours!! I used to melt the soles off a least one pair of tennis shoes each year because I’d prop my feet up too close to the bonfire. Haha It was fun to see Gabe and Brie helping you load all the wood up. Then loading the bales of hay. Big muscles!! 💪🏼 I got about 11”-12” of snow at my house. I was surprised after I posted a plea asking for help to shovel my driveway, someone was out there with a skid steer, plowing my driveway. I’m blessed. Waddles is so protective!! Water freezes so quickly in the winter. You’re such good ranchers!! You always take great care of your animals. My kitchen faucet freezes at least once or twice a winter. Keep warm (I still have your quilt set aside for you!) and stay safe!! Good seeing you Andersons!! 💛

Good idea! As long as we pull the hose and drain the water (and shut the valve off 🤪) we don't run into a problem

You should get blankets on your horses

They have shelter and they don’t use it. If you use blankets then they don’t grow their winter coats. They are just fine like God made them. 😊

Their winter coats keep them warm and they have the option to stay out of the elements. We used blankets in the past and have learned that as long as you let their coats grow (which they won't do with blankets on) then they will be fine.
