Winter in the truck camper can be especially challenging when there's a lot of snow on the roof. Keeping everything heated, unfrozen, and operating correctly can also be challenging! Van life in my Ford F250 truck provides ample opportunities for beautiful adventures but also some not so fun moments when you're stuck in a blizzard!

Really, making a pizza outside, while it’s snowing! I would have been happy making pizza in the camper and just called it a draw! But you get points for trying to go the extra mile. It takes guts to drive to a secluded place by yourself in a snowy drive without getting stuck. Tough women! I remember eating an egg roll wrap with spinach, string cabbage with some raisins or something for flavoring and fresh baked fish. Just wet the wrap, load it, than wrap it and they were amazed how well I stuffed everything in that wrap and perfectly sealed it, and it tasted delicious!

You can close your doors on the sides of a tarp - 20’x40’ (I use this) and bungee the front and back down onto or under bumpers in heavy snowfall. When you have to move, dismantle it, fold up, and cruise away. Like your videos very much!

For weight in the van stop at Home Depot when you are going to be in the snow and get a few hundred pounds of play sand. It does two things it gives you the needed weight plus if you ever get stuck you can use the sand to give your rear tires traction. I've done that for years in all my vehicles even automobiles, but especially pickup trucks and aluminum beds.

I found this hack pretty useful when I had my pickup in the NY winters. I took tarps and covered my turck over that way it doesnt allow the snow to pack onto the truck. Also, when you slightly pull on the tarp the snow falls off easier. It might be a ton of work but it does help. Let me know how it turns out for you.

Word of advice from someone who lives in the high Sierras. Buy yourself a SnoShark. It's the BEST tool for removing very large amounts of snow from your vehicle and scrapping ice from your windows. It has a telescoping handle that allows you to really reach up to high places to get the snow off your camper roof and then can be shortened and folded to fit in small places inside the vehicle. Vegetable oil on your door seals will make them easier to open. I use cheap spray and do the steering wheel wells to prevent ice building up. During the winter a plastic tarp from the top of the cab to the front of the hood, just tuck the top in the upper door seals an bungee both front sides n center bumper. Then simply open a door grab the tarp an pull forward from each side. (You can also use this solution on your camper) I used a rope between reefer trailer and snow to break the snow loose by 'sawing' from side to side. Great videos, be safe, have fun, enjoy life.

Hannah, Julia here, in your F250 make sure you push your parking brake all the way to the floor til it stops, just get some plastic wheel wedge stops behind the rear wheels, ensuring it doesnt rolling, and then turn your key to the first setting of the on position and your back up lights will come on and you will have lighting to cook your pizza..We do this all the time when we go to our cabin with our F350 (we have LED bulbs in all the light housings) or just buy lights to mount in the back 😁

Having spent over a decade in northern Indiana, my truck never saw a garage or cover of any sorts. Your dilema is all too familiar. The problem that stuck doors have. Besides being stuck. Is that forcing them open can sometimes cause the weather stripping to come loose along the door edge or door frame.

For years I responded to medical emergencies all over New Jersey. Some days, I would travel about 180 miles in snow when the governor declared a snow emergencies and forbid any traveling. All of my vehicles (station wagons) had rear wheel drive. I did have a lot of equipment in the rear compartment. I never had any problems. My greatest feat was a person in a 4 wheel drive jeep could not get up a slight slope onto a highway. She had a blanket in her car that we put in between the two vehicles and I pushed her onto the highway and then went on to a hospital for my job. My only suggestions to you are have chains and go slow.

Salt water is even colder than fresh water. Plus you dunked your hair as well. It takes a long time to wash the salt out. You are obviously in excellent physical condition to be snowboarding in such places with deep powdery snow. I am from Montreal. Of course there is a lot of snow here, but we do not get huge amounts at once. The record amount for a snowstorm here is 47 cm, which is 1 1/2 feet. Not that much, but the snow accumulates here over the winter.

Your body makes enough heat, you just need the right gear to retain it. I have a TETON Sports Celsius XL Sleeping Bag that is rated to -25F. I get the XL so I can put my regular flannel sleeping bag inside it when needed. If for some reason you are in -60F, you can put a space blanket between the 2 sleeping bags to retain more heat. Don't sleep with the space blanket on you, you will sweat and then freeze when you come out. Baffin Titan boots are comfort rated to -148F.

A shop broom would expedite a lot of snow removal, and usually can be collapsed into the brush portion and the handle portion. Not so great for ice, but excellent for even wet snow in a pinch.
