When Liz wore the plaid top with the plaid skirt recently, I was like: YES. Definitely got that dopamine hit of like “whoa, unexpectedly I love it.” So glad this made your list!

My favorite neutral has always been black. I would refused to even try other ones, and now in my 30's, I love navy and browns and greys and find myself not wearing black as often! Which is crazy to me! But I'm not mad about it. Also, you can dye your legwarmers brown! Rit makes a synthetic dye and it's actually pretty great!

Omgaw yes ty for calling out how unflattering some fashions can be--but really, I think just about any aesthtic and fit can be flattering (at least fr certain angles 😅), its the styling and confidence that pushes it one way or other

9:10 I’ve been looking for one of these for ages now, can’t thrift one because they’re mostly men’s styles and I’m too petite to fit into any men’s, don’t wanna get one from fast fashion because I don’t like the quality, and I’m too broke to buy a nice one that’s real material 😭 Trying to find a nice in between of quality faux materials that look real, and also having it fit me. Such a struggle when you have a clear vision for an item you want but none of them present in the market are the perfect one for you!

I saw a guy on the train 2 days ago that was wearing a hoodie, and on the hood part he had pinned badges (in Japan. they're called a "can badge"). I am not sure if I personally would do that, but I thought, yeah, that's different.

nooo nonono i just personally cannot stand plaid on plaids (unless it’s matching or the sizes/nuances of the plaid pattern are different enough to make it look seamless) it just hurts to look at … reminds me of my friend who recently got into fashion and thought she would look cool by mixing as many patterns as possible without a thought, like a harsh plaid on a harsh plaid 😭

to be more clear i like it when the plaids are different types of plaids, like one will have “more” lines and details and a different size than the other, which could be a more simple type of plaid (or complete matching!) I just see too much plaid on plaid where they’re very similar but also noticeably different, and also both intense types so like your eyes just don’t know where to focus in on , it’s an eyestrain (IMO!!!)

For me, there is a particular gray--maybe a 50% gray--that looks terrible on me. It has to have a bit of a warm tone, a bit oatmeal-ish, for me to like it. And I have always liked charcoal gray.

Yes the only reason we like what we like is because humans decided that certain things are stylish, cute, flattering, ext... We don't like to admit it but it's true and it effects everyone. When we think we are standing out- if there's certain things we don't like, and even if we think we're dressing in a unique way, in reality we are all dressing with a similar mindset and are effected by the same societal standards and stereotypes. Often the reason why we don't like certain things isn't because of the actual item, but because of the connections humans made between objects and meanings and what the item says about you. We are all dressing the way we want people to perceive us, even if we deny it, in the end we do care about what people think of us. Okay end of rant haha. I love when you talk about these things, they are on my mind all the time. Love your channel!
