I am very impressed with driving in such conditions. I drove all over Europe and Turkey but it was a bit better. I think the tire is decisive here, not to mention your skills. Mega respect for you.

Jeg er gammel chauffør, og har kørt hele Europa og norden tynd. det bedste kørsel jeg havde var når jeg læssede i det sydlige Spanien til Finland, 7300 km i et stræk uden af og på læsninger. Tilsammen når jeg finder regnemaskinen har jeg lagt små 7 mill km bag mig, og jeg elsker stadig at køre, nu er det så med camper og opleve norden på næsten samme måde. Tak for dig og alle i andre der følger vi gamle i sporet. TAK.

@@harrisonmega7918 Dude! Its not the temperature that is in effect. LOL! Its the driving-conditions! Try driving in Norway during winter and you will quickly learn there is a big difference. Denmark is more or less flat with little to no snow at all. I cycled the same route up the 10% to Junkerdalen in 2018 in summer, on the way back to Sweden, 25C+ heat, it was really hard. Interesting to see it in winter.

You have my respect.. WOW!! 👍👍 I can tell you that, the old road, is closed now, and replaced with a tunnel, that has a lesser climb. On the down side, one misses the astonishing view, from going up the old hill 😉

@@Slipse Definitely felt apprehensive at times. We sometimes had rock slides in winter months, so you never knew what might be around the next curve! Kept us alert for sure. Some of your roads look so narrow, but doesn't seem to be too much traffic. Such a lovely place to work. Thank you again for taking us all along with you on your journeys. @@Slipse I have been driving in Scandinavia for 40 years . So i see my self as an truckdriver. And to Well i know the low skills to drivers from other countrys . Knowing nothing about tires, loading, etc for winter conditions. Driving around on summer tires etc. This low payd drivers are death machines on Scandinavia roads. And engines on 400/500 hp are not for our roads , with 50/60 tonns total. It's just a pain in the ass. So please stay home this winter . We has work to do and dont have time to wait for you.

Thank you Robert 😊👍 well I didn't put on chains on that particular day, the snow wasn't particularly wet, so I just transferred some weight from my tag axle, to my drive axle ( this can be done with a push on a button, and the truck shifts the pressure in the air suspension) and the climb went smooth 😉 stay safe over there 😊👍

Hej Finn 😊 hyggeligt at du havde lyst til at kigge med 👍 det er slet ingen hemmelighed at, jeg er helt høj på det jeg ser på mine ture 😊 mht Junkerdal bakken, så var dette en de gode dage mht føret, den kan være en seriøs udfordring,, særligt som da jeg kørte op fredag aften, hvor der pludselig var 5 varme grader, og regnvejr, og vejen stadig dækket med is/sne.. så kan adrenalinet godt komme lidt op i niveau 😁

I agree on the scenery remark totally Bob 😊👍 to be honest, I have no idea how many accidents happened at this spot, most drivers has avoided this place in the winter time, but a few months ago, a tunnel has been opened there, and the narrow 10% climb is now history.. a good thing for both fuel consumption and a lot of time is saved.. but a little sad, a good challenge and the spectacular view has gone.. 😉

Hi Jon, it depends really, ofc on temperatures salt doesn't work below minus 9deg C. And also on how it is used, if the result has to be any good salt needs to be spread, before a snowfall, then the snowplow has to do a thorough job, and more salt needs to be applied... If the temperature is going up and down a lot, I prefer to drive on the snow, if they just even it, and they apply gravel, at sharp corners, and steep climbs, and decents.. If the temperature is below minus 11 deg C.. Snow has got fairly good friction to the tires.. So in my view, there's no straight answer to your question.. 😉

I usually take the E45 all the way down to Gothenburg, going via Sweden saves some fuel, and the way this winter has been, saves time as well 😉👍

Not on that particular day no, it depends a lot on the temperature, if it is "too warm" meaning just around 0 degrees C, I would have put on chains.. You can more or less say, the colder the better 😉👍 Good luck with your education 😊👍

Thank you Harke 😊👍 my front tires are Yokohama 901ZS, with studs, the best front tire I have ever tried 👍👍👍 on my drive axle and my bogie tires are Bandag retreads, also studded, they are OK with snow, but I am not happy with them driving on ice. My boss has promised me, to try and get hold of Double Coin ice grip tires for my drive axle for the next season.. I will post a couple of tire pictures, in the KZbin community thread.. 😊

Hi Andrew 😊 on this particular trip, I didn't have to chain up.. Not like this winter, where I have had to use chains multiple times.. And yes, I have studded tires on my front wheels and on my traction wheels..

No chains that particular day, it was nice and frosty, so I just transferred some weight from the bogie axle to the the drive axle, and good old Angry Bird just climbed up the 10 % hill nicely 💪😎👍
