My biggest issue with dressing for the cold and wearing a base layer under my clothes is most buildings keep it super warm when it's cold outside so I end up being too warm all day when I am in the office.

For real cold winter climates, beige (I actually prefer white or denin grey leather) ankle boots with a stilleto heel make a more reasonable alternative, wearing socks, even thin ones, helps a lot when tempratures get close to freezing point. That been said, I realy love the 2nd look, it's very elegant!

OH and don't go out without your base-layers, gloves and hat tonight! It's super common for people to come here and realize they have to learn how to dress for the crazy cold. Keep a packable down jacket in your car for those crazy temp changes. By the time I got out of the Denver Art Museum last night, it was a whole different situation from the day's 70 degree high :)

Miss Louie! I’m currently going to school to be a teacher. I’m aware dress codes are becoming more relaxed but obviously professionalism is a must. My only issue is that I’m a heat casualty- I get sick in the heat and get very uncomfortable with heat easily. I was wondering if you had any tips? So good I usually don't wear boots 'cause I don't like them. I'm so glad that bare feet with heels are pretty good even for winter outfits. I had some doubts before, but just looking at these wonderful outfits encourages me to go out how I prefer. How do you handle freezing cold or snow? It's still okay to go out in pumps and bare feet? I assume so, cause the added leggings keeps my legs warm, so my feet can take the extra cold ^^

Invest in good pieces for winter and they could be timeless. Ultra warm heattech from Uniqlo, 100% Merino wool from either banana republic or Uniqlo, 100% cashmere sweater, cashmere mittens, wool socks, cashmere scarf, good snow boots, very well made fleece tights like Vince camuto. And drive safe!! Tc.
