@@maxadrums Do you know the reason the song is called Sommarfågel? The word is originally Norwegian, sommerfugl, and means butterfly. A friend of Martin Molin told him that his patronus (from Harry Potter) would definitely be a butterfly. Martin then somehow learned about the beautiful symbolism of the norwegian word, a butterfly being a bird of summer. So he translated the word, literally, into Swedish, and called the song Sommarfågel.

Do I hear that tambourine come back in the original version of the final verse though (2:50)? I guess I don't know if that's how Marcus plays it or if it's just in the studio recording.
@kyoopihd6 жыл бұрын
Self-reply! Doesn't look like he plays with it live: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGK0pXR7m6p4m8k I stand corrected. By myself.
@maxadrums6 жыл бұрын
Hey Adam! There is indeed a tambourine in there, however playing it with the tambourine-stick would be really tricky. If you look to the rate at which the tambourine is playing as well as the crash/hi-hat, they would clash in the sense that the crash would be doable, but the hi-hat hit would be as the stick is moving in the opposite direction. So in a sense, you'd have to hit the hi-hat from underneath, while keeping a straight beat with the tambourine, and that'd be hella' difficult!

Sommarfågel is the swedish word for "Butterfly" :) Great cover!
@maxadrums8 жыл бұрын
I actually didn't know, thanks Lars! I thought that was Danish, do you know in which part of Sweden it's most common?
@labbern8 жыл бұрын
+Maximiliam Andersson Wintergatan is a swedish band. I bet the word Sommarfågel is most common in Gothenburg concidering that Martin Molin who wrote the song is from there. A more common translation of butterfly in swedish is the word "Fjäril". Would be great with more covers of Wintergatan songs. Paradis would be dope!
@maxadrums8 жыл бұрын
Oh, they sure are! I actually grew up around Marcus, have had him as a private drum instructor, our live audio engineer, and been checking most of his different gigs! Great guy. Like you're saying, Martin's from down there so that's probably where it's more common, which also is closer to Denmark - so it probably originated from there! I'll definitely consider more covers, hehe. Detektivbyrån would be fun as well.

Yeah buddy, it's not an aero drum moduel, it's Vater's "StickMate Tambourine" that I put on one of the sticks. So as I'm playing the quarter notes in the air with my right hand, you get the 8th notes from the Tambourine! If I didn't play it in the air, it'd ruin the flow :)
