You are 100% CORRECT. The new year (according to the ancients) begins the first day of Spring, the start of Aries season. That’s when we should go full force on resolutions. They’ll actually stick! Lovely video. Lovely you.

This video is definitely reaching the right audience. It was a pleasure listening to you, I share your thoughts about letting ourselves rest and wait through the winter and start taking action in spring. This has been the first new year I've spent without resolutions and I never realized what a stress they caused before. I am barely awake in the mornings, all my energy goes into my obligations, I am in no shape to set new goals. When spring comes, if I feel like it, I'll see what I want to change. For now, I'll settle for cups of tea and time indoors.

Hi Duncan. Really enjoyed your video, and always find your Scottish accent so calming. Enjoyment can be found in the simplest things in life as you show here, and can provide a 'mindfulness' kind of experience.

Thank you! 🙏🏻 that’s kind of you 🙂 I’m also trying to approach the whole video making process with a bit more calm (and less perfectionism! 😂) I have spent hours in the past editing the tiniest details and now I’m just trying to be a bit looser with it all 🤷🏼‍♂️😁

Listening to your " a day in the life" is mentally soothing. Its as if I am listening to an excerpt from a Kindle novel. You use just the right word to describe each thing you touch, pursue or consume. Poetry in motion. That is the definition of your life at this time. Thank you for reminding us how rewarding simple pleasures can be in a single day. 🫖

Thank you so much 🙂 The world is so noisy at the moment, it’s lovely to know you found it soothing, that’s definitely what I want to share in these videos 😊🧘🏼‍♂️

In recent years I've also found that making resolutions and starting a new year in the middle of winter made no sense to me. All of nature is still sleeping, taking it slow, and so should we ! I am resting now and will be ready to take on new things and truly wake up hen spring comes ! As nature intended.

it feels weird seeing how green and alive your garden is this time of year. i’m in minnesota and even though it’s the warmest winter i’ve ever seen everything is still mostly dead/hibernating usually this time of year it rarely reaches 20 degrees fahrenheit (-6C) and there’s like 2-4 feet of snow on the ground

Oh wow! We rarely get temperatures below that to be honest, sounds like a real winter with you! Some parts of Scotland get a lot of snow but down in the south east of England it’s rare to get more than a few days of light snow in the year. I’ve had the occasional tender plant make it through the winter some years. I bet all that snow is very pretty in Minnesota though 🙂❄️
